Pupil Premium Strategy 2016-2017 Pupil Premium and Pupil Premium + funding Some of the provisions on our plan for 2016-2017 are to enable us to maintain the successes from previous years.

 Lack of life experiences for many children  Poor vocabulary is an issue for many children due to lack of experiences  Social interaction difficulties  Low language ability on entry to Reception  Progress in KS2 for low ability disadvantaged pupils was below average in 2016.  Writing progress was below average for low prior attainment group.  Child protection issues  Lack of home reading support  Lack of parental support with homework is an issue for many children  Childcare issues  Access to extra-curricular activities is often limited

Intervention/Provision  A free at the point of need Breakfast Club  Learning mentor/TA3/SLT on gate/main entrance in the morning  Spare uniforms and coats  washing machine & dryer use  Spare kits for PE  Learning mentor support during Breakfast Club time

Subsidised curriculum enrichment and enhancement activities (eg: Outdoor and Adventurous Residential trips) Speech & Language support Precision teaching Additional curriculum resources Butterfly room drop-in lunchtime sessions Additional staffing in EYFS Reading support PiXL support & Booster groups

Additional interactive resources for supporting learning at home e.g Bug Club, Sumdog Parent workshops e.g phonics, reading, SATs at KS1 & KS2 Homework & Computing clubs at lunchtimes After school club Clubs and after school events – transport provided by school staff

Expected outcome  There will be a reduction in persistent absenteeism  There will be reduction in the number of minutes lost through punctuality issues  Children will have basic needs met (will be fed, clothed and watered)  Children will have opportunities to discuss worries/concerns before learning begins

     

Disadvantaged children will have same learning opportunities as their peers Disadvantaged pupils will make good progress in core areas Life experiences will be enhanced Resources will effectively support pupil progress and attainment Relevant agencies will support the school & pupils to improve vocabulary Children with social interaction difficulties will have support at lunchtimes to minimise behaviour problems and promote social skills

Children will have access to and use online resources PP children will attend a variety of after school clubs and events Discounts for After school club will allow more families the option of accessing the provision
