Improve communication with the co-located primary school to ensure children’s transition into school is better supported
Action Meetings set up to identify ways in which the school and the centre can begin to work together more effectively. Staff member from children’s centre is supporting staff to work with year 6 children in SRE. Friday pm slot made available within the computer suite for any computer classes adult learning to take place. School hall and field used by centre to support the delivery of holiday activities. Meeting set up with new Foundation stage coordinator to look at a more effective transition particularly for children accessing the children’s centre activities and then moving into school.
Improve the planning and assessment of play activities to better support child development
Crèche paperwork adapted in line with the revised EYFS. Crèche briefings mandatory for all staff to attend. More training and support from staff for the volunteers running the session.
