Research and Development
There have been two meetings to establish groups of schools wishing to work alongside other schools on action research projects. Hope University have given their support for this initiative and will be looking to work with the Partnership throughout this academic year. There are several schools who wish to be involved in Hope University’s international research related to Academic Optimism. This investigates three organisational properties of a school that make a significant different to student achievement: Academic Emphasis (striving for academic achievement), Faculty Trust (Parent and Student Trust) and Collective Efficacy (the performance capacity of the system as a whole). A number of our schools will be engaging in this international research and will be able to reflect on the results for their own schools. At the next meeting on Tuesday 27th September at LACE 3.15pm - 5.00pm we will be looking at making decisions regarding research topics, agreeing dates and receiving support from Hope University regarding scoping out a research project. All schools are invited, and if you didn’t attend any of the meetings that took place prior to the end of the summer term, you are still very welcome to attend this meeting and take part in this initiative. Research and Development Key date: Tuesday 27th September at LACE 3.15pm - 5.00pm
