Dear Parents and Carers How lovely to be back in school for the second half of the summer term, with the sun shining and the children able to work and play outside. Please could you remember to put sun cream on your children before they come to school in the morning if the weather is going to be sunny. Children may bring sun cream to school to apply to themselves at lunchtimes. This should have a sun protection factor of 15 or more. Please make sure that all bottles are clearly labelled with the child’s name. Because every child is different they will not be allowed to share each others. Children may also bring sensible hats or caps to wear outside if the weather is sunny. We also suggest that they bring water bottles too. These should be clearly labelled and will need to go home each night to be washed. Summer Fair This is an annual event run by the PTA. This year it will take place on Friday 8th July starting at 2.00pm. There will be a variety of stalls, activities, bouncy castles, barbecue and a special prosecco tent. We are looking for volunteers to help run the stalls, sell raffle tickets and barbecue. Please let us know if you are able to help. Further information will be sent home nearer to the time from the PTA. We are also looking for new PTA members, so please come and join us for the meetings – the more parents we have the more ideas we can come up with. Sports Afternoons Key Stage 1 (years Reception to year 2) will have their Sports Afternoon on Friday July 15th. Key Stage 2 (years 3 to 6) will have their Sports Afternoon on Friday July 1st. Both afternoons will start at 1.10pm and finish for normal home time. PLEASE CAN WE STRESS THAT NO DOGS ARE ALLOWED ON THE SCHOOL PREMISES British Values Week During this week we will be learning about the fundamental British Values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, mutual respect and tolerance.
