MESSAGE FROM THE MAYOR IT GIVES ME GREAT PLEASURE TO INTRODUCE THE 2023 SCENIC RIM BUSINESS EXCELLENCE AWARDS. Our region is home to an exceptional array of small and medium sized businesses ranging from the traditional to the more contemporary and unique, all of which play a valuable role in strengthening our regional economy. They provide new and ongoing employment opportunities and add to the richness of our lifestyle which makes the Scenic Rim such a great place to live, work and visit. The Scenic Rim Business Excellence Awards is an opportunity to recognise and celebrate our local achievers and inspire others as we expand our line-up of high-performing enterprises that continue to deliver prosperity to our region. Especially through the tough and uncertain times of COVID-19, it’s our local businesses and their dedication and determination that continue to keep our economy moving and this is our chance to celebrate and thank them.

Winners of each of the 10 business categories will then be in the running for the overall Regional Prosperity Award, recognising a business that has achieved outstanding results and demonstrated allround excellence. I encourage all our local businesses to nominate their team and outstanding individuals. 2023 BUSINESS EXCELLENCE AWARDS This year’s new nomination category, Workplace Skills Development, recognises a local business that has excelled in supporting and developing the skills of its employees and highlights their value in upskilling our local workforce. Along with recognising our ever-growing tourism and hospitality industry across two categories, the 2021 Awards will host a total of 11 fantastic nomination categories.
