Kids’ Corner Collaging with Columbia County Homeless Services Through our partnership with the Art School of Columbia County, residents at the Galvan Civic Motel had fun getting creative through the art of collaging! The Galvan Civic Motel is a temporary housing unit which falls under St. Catherine’s Columbia County Homeless Services. This project, “Every Layer Tells a Story, Every Hand Adds Hope,” brings children and families together through hands-on artmaking that fosters self-expression, healing, and connection. Pre-started collages are given with an art kit filled with a variety of donated materials to add to the collage, giving them a chance to respond and rebuild, rather than inventing from nothing.
