• Ysgol Beaumaris not a good place to hold the meeting. Quite a hill for people to climb. • Communication – Information - Network • Highlight good practice – celebrate it – share it – value it • That the word ‘community’ is central to all that is planned or aspired to. We are what we are with other people. • Creation of forums for people to express feelings. • Process of subsidiary. Local decisions made by local people. • Good evening. Microphone might have helped. Some interesting ideas. Room was rather cold. TABLE SHEET 2 • Help with old age services • Closure of Heulfre? • Centralise facilities o Daycare o Meals on Wheels • Older people care o Social/ inclusion networks o Day care o Remain independent as long as possible • Meals on Wheels • Employment • Enough ‘goodwill’ & willing to act to take over services. Older people taking over ‘facilities’ – new opportunities for others to get involved • Support with actions not just words • How many can we realistically support? o Expecting communities to take over more and more activities & services. • Greater awareness of what is available in communities o Sharing information, avoiding duplication • Burden on small number of volunteers

o How do we recruit new members? o Upskilling, time, resources • Fragmented o Requires coordination • Celebrate differences to increase inclusion • Single point of contact o Taking too long to come into being • Available for locals o LSB/CC helping to integrate tourism resources • Signposting & training • LSB/CC – what is their duty – what do they have to do? • Stop referencing who’s doing it & start with how o Stop talking and start doing • How to be a correctly governed group o Mentoring – good practice o Projects sharing experiences • What’s going on around us? o What’s lacking? • Medrwn Mon expertise – setting up social enterprises etc. TABLE SHEET 3 • Glad I came • Feedback from this meeting is important – and other events! • Prentisaeth Apprenticeship • Services for older people e.g. Meals on Wheels • Not enough work places in Seiriol ward to take young people – would therefore be keeping them in local area • Peer mentoring sharing ideas and experiences from C.C & Vol. expertise: finance, legal, admin • Keeping young people in the community • Joining in with community activity, groups, committees o Understanding why it’s important

• Feeling positive • Willing volunteers with community • Funding shared fairly between all villages and towns • Look at other ways of doing thing e.g. meals on Wheels has stopped – Hotel? – cooking groups? o C.C. to support this new process, encourage, promote • Meals on Wheels referrals – o Venue o Money o Llangoed o Community Facebook • Clarity on who to talk to & makes decisions • Grants & funding information • Concessions on fees such as planning application • Asset Transfer • Document including an ‘asset map’ of C.C resources – community can use this • Community leaders – communication o Workers o People o Professionals o Councilors • Monies where from and who gets share over area – grant transport around area by who • Information back when support by outsiders. o Fix the ceiling! • What about films? • Use fliers to advertise events. • Don’t reinvent the wheel • Good turn scheme – example from Benllech – community transport – volunteer drivers • Got to ask! We needed awayday or brainstorming session! Who was everybody in the room? • Assets o Beaumaris community spirit o Meeting rooms o Great school o Play area o TABLE SHEET 6 • Tap into people who are experts in the field of ‘care’ • Beaumaris is well catered for – surrounding area is in need of services/activities consultation • Sustainability • Listen & continue to work with the community • Need to find more people to help with existing projects • Consultation – but need to listen and take on board what people are saying! Re:care of the elderly • Co-production to go to every youth club and primary school to listen to children and young people

• How will info from this event be cascaded to the rest of the community? • Time banking is NOT the answer o What is then? o Doing it because you want to! Not because you’re told to! o Waffling o Plus having support to do it o Zzzz……… • Are we going to look hear and listen to what children and young people want/would like in their community? • Sharing communication • Mental health • Why build and extension when there are community centres in the community struggling to keep open • Rural • Representation of all ages/all areas of the ward • Was evening right? Held same night as youth club. • I,I,I,I  We, We, We, We o Jargon • Can’t always get what we want. People need to take ownership.
