ABOUT US ‘Working With Not To’ Co-Production Project In June 2013 Pam Luckock and Fran O’Hara set up the project. We work across Wales growing co-production from ‘grassroots’ up, to create self-empowered and resilient people, communities and organisations. Working with people, learning together. Since then we’ve hosted 9 co-production ‘meet-ups’, 7 in North Wales and 2 in South Wales, including a BIG meetup attended by 95 people. Kindly supported by Local Authorities, WAO ‘Good Practice Wales’ and 1000 Lives Improvement. Our co-production definition which we created with our community guides our work: ‘A group of people working with each other, as equals, from the start to achieve a goal.’ With our learning community we’ve developed our ‘meet-up’ event format, where people from all sectors and a wide range of organisations come. Many different perspectives, bringing unique assets. Creating hospitable, inclusive spaces where people can connect, take part in conversations that matter’ that result in actions, plan and ‘think differently’. Experience gained from these means we now offer a full event delivery service... from planning the event, souring speakers and workshops and materials design - to hosting the event programme online, tickets invites, production of a database, delivery of the event (including social media) and post event feedback and reports. These are useful skills which starting something, gathering a group, sharing stories and building a community to make change happen. Fran O’Hara Director, Scarlet Design and the ‘Working With Not To’ Co-Production Project Fran O’Hara is the founder and MD of Scarlet Design International Ltd, a strategic design, training and visual facilitation company based in Cardiff. At this event Fran graphic recorded live ‘visual minutes’ of the presentations and led 2 sessions using visual facilitation. Fran brings a wealth of expertise, gained from 4 years at Disney in Hong Kong and Los Angeles (including dressing up as Tigger in Disneyland!) and 16+ years working with multi-sector clients. These range from global giants such as The Walt Disney Company, Unilever, Shell and Vodaphone, to the Welsh Government, NHS Wales, 1000 Lives Improvement and local authorities. She works with organisations to identify their stories and to co-create the most effective and accessible communication tools to engage with their audience - both on and off-line. This could be in print… a campaign… an infographic… a vision map… an engagement toolkit… a handdrawn video or live ‘visual minutes’. ABOUT US Pam Luckock Director, ‘Working With Not To’ Co-Production Project, Coach, Mediator, World Cafe host and Action Learning facilitator Pam is a connector, networker and enabler with a strong belief in social justice and the potential in each person to bring about a positive change. In her former NHS role she gained wide experience of strategic management and leadership development to effect culture change and create positive working environments. Such an environment is safer and ensures that the contribution and well being of everyone is valued. Within NHS Wales organisations she provided support and leadership to promote equality and human rights. Her belief is that when a health and social care organisation adopts a human rights based approach. Learning to follow the FREDA principles (fairness, respect, equality, dignity and autonomy) the quality and safety of the care provided improves in a sustainable way. To support this work she has used coaching, action learning and appreciative inquiry methods to develop deeper understanding and action. Pam is a qualified mediator, action learning set adviser, ILM7 accredited coach and a Wales Public Sector (PSMW) facilitator with experience of small and large group work. As a coach, her clients have described Pam as being nonjudgemental, tenacious, calm, gentle and having patience, empathy and a good sense of humour. She believes that participation and engagement are about enabling unheard voices

to be heard in the arena where they can influence strategic decisions. She has discovered that co-production offers an effective way to achieve this, harnessing untapped resources. She is a founder member of the Coaching Network and the ‘All in this together’ group, an active member of the Wales coproduction network and with colleagues hosted the Communities Can 2012 conference in North Wales. She currently works as a consultant with Fran O’Hara as part of the Scarlet Design team, co-designing and delivering the ‘Working With Not To’ project and workshops. In 2014 she completed the World Café Hosting Fundamentals Signature Learning Program at Fielding University, California, US and enjoys every opportunity to use this simple effective method to host conversations that matter.
