EXPANSIONS AND ENHANCEMENTS

EXPANDING WITH PURPOSE & VISION

In 2025, SAX experienced a year of meaningful progress marked by strategic investment, thoughtful expansion, and continued focus on its people, clients, and communities. Across the firm, initiatives were guided by a long-term vision centered on sustainable growth, operational excellence, and delivering consistent value. From strengthening leadership and expanding service capabilities to modernizing technology and deepening community impact, SAX advanced key priorities while preserving the culture and relationships that define the firm.

The following highlights reflect the milestones and investments that shaped the year and positioned SAX for continued momentum in the years ahead.

STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP FUELS THE NEXT PHASE OF GROWTH

In 2025, SAX entered a pivotal chapter with a minority investment from Cobepa, an independent, privately held investment firm. This partnership strengthened SAX’s ability to expand, innovate, and continue delivering exceptional value while remaining proudly independent.

As part of this evolution, SAX restructured to align with its growth strategy: Sax LLP continues to deliver attest services as a licensed CPA firm, while advisory, consulting, and professional services operate through Sax Advisory Group. This structure ensures continuity, with no disruption to client relationships or engagements.

Cobepa’s hands-with investment approach aligns closely with SAX’s client-first culture and long-term vision, positioning the firm to scale capabilities, invest in people, and support sustained growth in the years ahead.

ACCELERATING GROWTH THROUGH STRATEGIC ACQUISITIONS

SAX’s growth strategy took shape in 2025 through the acquisition of four firms, expanding geographic reach, deepening expertise, and strengthening service offerings across key markets. These acquisitions added new partners, team members, and capabilities while preserving the cultures that made each firm successful.

Earlier in the year, SAX acquired Sewald & Anastasia CPAs, bolstering its New Jersey presence and strengthening real estate and private client services. SAX also completed its first post-Cobepa acquisition with Maddaloni, Nydick & Keenan, P.C., a firm recognized for its client-first philosophy and commitment to internal growth.

The addition of SCL Consulting enhanced SAX’s Client Accounting Services practice and expanded its Mid-Atlantic presence. Known for its collaborative approach and trusted client relationships, SCL aligned closely with SAX’s values and strengthened one of the firm’s fastest-growing disciplines.

Together, these acquisitions reflected a deliberate approach to growth— partnering with like-minded firms to deliver broader and deeper value to clients.

STRENGTHENING LEADERSHIP TO EXPAND ADVISORY EXCELLENCE

Throughout 2025, SAX invested in leadership by welcoming accomplished partners and executives who strengthened the firm’s fastest-growing and most strategic practice areas. These additions reinforced SAX’s commitment to a fully integrated, high-impact advisory platform.

Peter Motsch, CPA, MBA, strengthened Client Accounting Services as lead, and Colin Baker, CPA, CVA, MBA, now leads Transaction Advisory Services. Michael Mastruzzo, CPA, joined as Partner and Real Estate Advisory Practice Leader. Ladidas Lumpkins, CPA, JD, LLM, assumed leadership of the Trusts and Estates Practice. Les Vasvari, CFA, CMT, assumed the role of Chief Investment Officer for SAX Wealth Advisors, and Allison Kirchhofer leads the firm’s Cannabis Practice. Stacey Udell joined the firm as Partner, bolstering both the Business Valuation & Litigation Practice and the Cannabis Practice.

Together, this leadership expansion deepens expertise, strengthens collaboration, and enhances the firm’s ability to serve clients navigating growth and change.

ADVANCING SAX TECHNOLOGY ADVISORS FOR A DIGITAL-FIRST FUTURE

In 2025, SAX Technology Advisors was revitalized to better equip businesses navigating an increasingly complex digital environment. Under new leadership from Rob Owen and Leon Grassi, the practice sharpened its focus on delivering strategic guidance and practical technology solutions that drive efficiency, scalability, and growth.

SAX Technology Advisors supports organizations through both advisory-led engagement and standalone technology services, helping clients strengthen infrastructure, enhance cybersecurity, and make informed technology decisions. By pairing cutting-edge tools with tailored support, the team enables organizations to confidently advance digital transformation and achieve measurable results.

As part of this evolution, Rob and Leon introduced the Under the Hood video series, offering candid conversations on IT services, cybersecurity, and innovation. The series also features leaders from across SAX discussing where the practice stands today, its ongoing advancements, and the vision shaping its future.

INVESTING IN COMMUNITIES WITH PURPOSE & IMPACT

In a defining moment for the firm, SAX partners collectively contributed $1 million to the SAX Charitable Foundation in 2025, reinforcing the belief that growth and responsibility go hand in hand. This commitment reflected SAX’s long-standing dedication to supporting the communities where its people live and work.

The contribution followed the firm’s strategic investment partnership with Cobepa and mirrored broader momentum across the organization. As SAX invested in the future of the business, its partners also invested meaningfully in the future of their communities.

The SAX Charitable Foundation focuses on supporting high-impact nonprofit organizations aligned with the firm’s values, with emphasis on education, community development, and leadership initiatives. These efforts empower future leaders, strengthen local communities, and fosters a shared sense of purpose across the firm.

BUILDING TALENT, LEADERSHIP & WELL-BEING FIRMWIDE

In 2025, SAX made significant investments in learning, development, and wellness to support its growing team. Expanded access to CPE through Becker Professional Education more than doubled utilization, resulting in over 6,000 completed CPE hours

The firm introduced structured, level-based learning pathways, standardized core processes, and enhanced training programs across Tax and Assurance & Advisory. Leadership development advanced through the launch of an Operations Development Program, which received strong feedback for practical skill-building.

SAX also enhanced its commitment to well-being with the rollout of the Caravan Wellness app and monthly firmwide wellness programming. Thought leadership expanded through LumiQ podcast production, extending the firm’s presence in the CPE market. Together, these efforts reinforce a culture of continuous learning and long-term professional growth.

ADVANCING AUDIT INNOVATION THROUGH TECHNOLOGY TRANSFORMATION

SAX strengthened its Assurance & Advisory capabilities in 2025 with the launch of a new audit software platform, DAS. This initiative modernizes audit delivery while supporting consistency, adoption, and efficiency across teams.

The new audit technology improves workflow automation, documentation standards, and data-driven insights. To support adoption, SAX deployed comprehensive training and job aids across the departments.

This combined investment in systems and people ensured innovation translated into improved client outcomes, enabling audit teams to deliver high-quality engagements with greater clarity and scalability.

ENHANCING CLIENT COLLABORATION THROUGH A UNIFIED DIGITAL PORTAL

In 2025, SAX transitioned to HubSync™ as its centralized client portal, simplifying document intake, strengthening data security, and standardizing collaboration across the firm.

HubSync™ replaced multiple legacy portals, consolidating client interaction into a single workspace with multi-factor authentication. The platform supported centralized document retention, customizable access permissions, built-in e-signatures, and mobile accessibility— enhancing efficiency and the overall client experience.

MANAGEMENT INCENTIVE UNITS

In 2025, SAX introduced a Management Incentive Plan (MIP) designed to reward and retain top management talent while reinforcing the firm’s long-term vision. The program aligns leadership incentives with the company’s strategic goals, ensuring that those guiding the firm’s direction are directly invested in its sustained success.

By fostering a culture of accountability, performance, and shared ownership, the MIP supports continued growth, profitability, and innovation. This initiative reflects SAX’s ongoing commitment to building a strong leadership foundation that drives progress for clients, team members, and the firm as a whole.

NATIONAL RECOGNITION & STRATEGIC GROWTH IN WEALTH ADVISORY

In 2025, SAX Wealth Advisors expanded its team, geographic presence, and operational scale across the East Coast. Over the course of the year, the firm added more than 20 professionals, completed 12 acquisitions, and grew to 8 offices. The firm continued to build their in-house Portfolio Management Team led by a Chief Investment Officer, and manages over $4.6 billion in assets, including $1 billion in retirement plan assets.

During the year, SAX Wealth Advisors received multiple industry recognitions tied to firmwide performance. The firm was named to Newsweek’s America’s Top Financial Advisory Firms 2026, ranked #31 on Financial Advisor Magazine’s Top 50 Fastest-Growing RIA Firms, recognized as a 5Star RIA Firm by InvestmentNews, and ranked #21 nationally by Accounting Today for assets under management—marking its eighth consecutive year as a “Wealth Magnet” firm.

Watch the CIP Conference event video...

SAX’s Fourth Annual Consumer & Industrial Products Conference took over MetLife Stadium on October 24, bringing together operators, investors, and advisors for a grounded, forwardlooking conversation about where the industry is headed and how to win in it. The day opened with a keynote from former JETS player, Erik Coleman, whose perspective on leadership, discipline, and performance set the tone for candid discussion beyond spreadsheets and supply chains.

The centerpiece “Heat Map of the Industry” panel cut straight to the pressures leaders are facing right now, from inflation and insurance challenges to logistics, capital access, and regulatory change, with experts from SAX, CSG Law, Hotaling Insurance Services, CargoTrans, SAX Capital Advisors, and Citizens Bank offering practical, real-world viewpoints. Attendees also explored emerging tools and technologies in the Exhibition Showcase, seeing firsthand how innovation is reshaping operations across consumer and industrial products. With conversations flowing from breakfast through cocktails in the Commissioners Club, the conference balanced sharp insight with meaningful relationship-building, reinforcing SAX’s role at the center of the industry ecosystem.

SAX TECHNOLOGY CLIENT DINNERS

Following the launch of SAX Technology in 2025, the team hosted a series of intimate dinners designed to introduce the practice in a more personal setting. Led by CTO Leon Grassi, CIO Rob Owen, and Director Tom Hughes, these gatherings created space for open conversation around today’s technology challenges and how SAX Technology can support organizations across their full technology lifecycle. The dinners marked the official rollout of the group’s expanded capabilities, reinforcing to clients that expert guidance is available whether they are navigating strategy, infrastructure, security, or growth-driven technology needs.

LEADERSHIP SUMMIT

Held May 20 through May 22 at the Ocean Casino Resort in Atlantic City, the 2025 Leadership Summit brought SAX partners and firm leaders together for focused time on the firm’s long-term direction. Across strategy sessions and leadership discussions, participants examined growth opportunities, operational priorities, and the evolving needs of clients and teams. The summit reinforced a shared commitment to intentional growth, strong leadership, and forward momentum, setting a clear course for where SAX is headed next.

NYC HAPPY HOUR

In July, SAX hosted a NYC Happy Hour at Bar Harta, welcoming clients and centers of influence for an easygoing evening of conversation, cocktails, and small bites. Designed as a mid-summer touchpoint, the event gave partners the chance to reconnect outside the office, strengthen relationships, and enjoy time together in a relaxed, informal setting. The night reflected SAX’s people-first approach to building lasting partnerships, one good conversation at a time.

WEBINARS

Webinars continued to be a core resource SAX leveraged in 2025 to deliver timely, meaningful content to clients and our broader network. Throughout the year, SAX professionals hosted virtual sessions spanning tax updates with Tax with SAX, industry-specific discussions across healthcare, nonprofit, real estate, construction, and cannabis, as well as timely topics tied to regulatory changes and market developments. Designed for accessibility and relevance, these webinars provided practical guidance and expert perspective, allowing participants to stay informed and connected wherever they were.

Throughout 2025, SAX expanded its nonprofit resources with the Nonprofit Fundamentals video series, hosted by April Kushner and Adam Holzberg The series breaks down core topics nonprofit leaders care about, from financial statements and key performance indicators to fundraising strategy, board governance, mergers and acquisitions, donor-advised funds, and trends shaping the sector. In 2025, SAX expanded its cannabis content with Herb on the Curb, a video series that steps outside the office and into dispensaries across New Jersey and New York. Each episode spotlights the stories behind local cannabis businesses, offering a firsthand look at operators, storefronts, and the communities they serve. Designed to be approachable and authentic, the series provides an on-the-ground perspective on a fast-growing industry and the people shaping it.

THE SAX

CHARITABLE FOUNDATION

The SAX Charitable Foundation supports organizations dedicated to developing future leaders, strengthening communities, and inspiring engagement among the Firm’s employees and partners. This year, the Foundation hosted several impactful initiatives, including a school supply drive, a coat drive, and a toy drive.

Supported by a generous $1 million gift received earlier this year, the Foundation is exceptionally well positioned to advance its mission, with its two largest initiatives also achieving notable success.

SAX is thrilled to announce another very successful year for the SAX 4 MILER, an annual run/walk event benefiting the Child Life Department at St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital in Paterson, NJ.

Since its inception in 2012, the event has raised over $1 million to support the hospital’s critical programs. This achievement follows the success of the 14th annual SAX 4 MILER, held on September 20, which raised over $100,000

This year’s event saw an outpouring of support from the community, participants, sponsors, and volunteers. Thanks to their generosity, 100% of the funds raised will directly benefit programs and services that enhance the hospital experience for children and their families.

The SAX 4 MILER has always been dedicated to helping children and families cope with the emotional and psychological challenges of hospitalization. The funds raised this year will continue to support essential services provided by the Child Life Department, including therapeutic play, music therapy, art therapy, and more.

This year’s event was made possible through the generous sponsorship of companies like Imperial Iron Works, Prismatic Development, Advisors Insurance Brokers, BCN Telecom, American Global, Valley Bank, Reno’s Appliances and Railroad Construction Company, who contributed at the $2,500 level or higher.

SAX looks forward to continuing its support of St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital and the SAX 4 MILER, which has become a powerful force for good in the community. Together, SAX and its partners are helping to ensure that these vital programs will thrive for years to come.

OUR FIRM CULTURE

Our Culture: Designed to Support People and Purpose

At SAX, our culture is intentionally designed to inspire, support, and empower our team. We believe that a strong workplace culture fuels collaboration, innovation, and longterm success—for our people, our clients, and our communities. Throughout the year, we invest in meaningful programs and experiences that promote connection, flexibility, professional growth, and giving back. Together, these elements define what it means to work—and thrive—at SAX.

Celebrating Our People

Showing appreciation for our team is a core part of who we are. Throughout the year, we recognize the hard work and dedication of our employees through firmwide celebrations and meaningful moments of connection. From our annual End-of-Year Celebration and Summer Picnic to happy hours, additional days off, and other special events, we take pride in creating opportunities to say, “thank you” and celebrate together.

Building Connection & Team Camaraderie

As our firm continues to grow and our workforce spans the globe, fostering connection is more important than ever. We intentionally create opportunities for employees to come together—whether in person or virtually—to maintain a collaborative atmosphere. These efforts include virtual games, team lunches, one-on-one coffee chats, and remote employee groups, all designed to strengthen relationships and reinforce a sense of belonging across the firm.

Flexibility That Supports Work-Life Balance

SAX embraces flexibility as a cornerstone of our culture. Through our hybrid work model, Customized Work Arrangement (CWA) program, and generous PTO offerings, employees are empowered to structure their work in ways that best fit their individual lifestyles and responsibilities. Team members at the manager level and above also enjoy self-managed PTO, reinforcing our trust-based approach and commitment to work-life balance.

Recognition & Career Growth

At SAX, we recognize excellence and promote from within, celebrating teammates who live out our core values.

To support long-term growth, our performance management approach is directly connected to learning and development. Professionals receive coaching and guidance from performance managers, supported by structured evaluation processes and level-based learning pathways that clarify expectations and development priorities at every stage. Expanded access to OnDemand courses, curated training plans, and role-aligned resources help teammates build job-relevant skills and accelerate progression. Together, our performance and development practices create a clear, supportive framework for growth that helps our people thrive while strengthening the firm.

Health, Wellness & Whole-Person Support

Our people are our most valuable asset, and their well-being is a top priority. Throughout the year, SAX offers wellness initiatives designed to support both physical and mental health. These include wellness webinars and a healthy living reimbursement—reinforcing our belief that investing in well-being supports both personal fulfillment and professional success.

Inclusion, Empowerment & Belonging

SAX is deeply committed to fostering a workplace rooted in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Through our ongoing DEI initiatives, we continue to build a culture that values diverse perspectives, ensures equal opportunity, and creates an inclusive environment where everyone can thrive.

This commitment is further supported through P.O.W.E.R. (Professional Organization of Women for Empowerment & Results), an employee-led group focused on professional development, networking, community outreach, and support. P.O.W.E.R. plays a key role in empowering women across the firm and addressing the evolving role of women in business.

Giving Back to Our Communities

Giving back is embedded in the SAX culture. Through the SAX Charitable Foundation, our firm supports charitable organizations and community initiatives that align with our values. Any SAX team member can get involved—by participating in firm-led efforts or spearheading causes they care deeply about.

To encourage meaningful community engagement, SAX offers a dedicated Volunteer PTO day for employees to support a charity of their choice and an Employee Match Program, where the firm matches employee donations dollar-for-dollar for internal fundraisers.

Popular initiatives include toy drives, school drives, clothing drives, our Basket Raffle benefiting the American Cancer Society and our annual 4 MILER supporting St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital. Together, these efforts allow our team to make a tangible impact beyond the workplace.

THE SAX

FAMILY

At SAX, we believe strong connections create a stronger firm. We proudly cultivate a family-oriented culture and show appreciation for our team through events that welcome both employees and their families. From post-deadline gatherings and team dinners to Bring Your Child to Work Day, these experiences foster community, support work-life balance, and strengthen relationships beyond the office.

FAMILY PICNIC

This summer, SAX gathered team members and their families at the scenic Forest Lodge in Warren, NJ, for its annual Family Picnic. The “Around the World” theme featured a catered lunch showcasing flavors from various regions across the globe, paired with classic boardwalk-style activities such as inflatable attractions, water slides, face painting, and bumper cars. With employees joining from across the country, the event celebrated connection, culture, and family.

END OF YEAR CELEBRATION

SAX’s End of Year Celebration marked a milestone year defined by significant growth and collective success. CEO and Managing Partner Joseph Damiano opened the evening by recognizing retiring partners, introducing new partners, and honoring team members with Service Awards for their contributions during a transformative year. The night continued with dinner, dancing, and camaraderie, celebrating not only how far the firm has come, but the exciting path ahead.

INDIA OFFICE

As we reflect on the year gone by, these moments capture the spirit, culture, and togetherness that define life at SAX India LLP. From welcoming the year with the warmth of Makar Sankranti, celebrating colors and camaraderie during Holi, and creating memories at our March party night, to bonding beyond the workplace during the July picnic—each milestone strengthened our connections.

The festive glow of Diwali in October reminded us of gratitude and growth, followed by the memorable visit of SAX Partner, Candy Gordon in November, which made the year even more special. We wrapped up the year with joy, laughter, and cheer during our Christmas celebrations in December.

Together, these moments tell the story of a year filled with collaboration, celebration, and shared experiences— and we are looking forward to creating many more in the year ahead.
