Team, First and foremost, as we continue to work this busy season deadline, many hours and efforts are being spent going above and beyond our standard call of duty and we thank you for stepping up to address this year’s unique set of challenges. We’ve been doing a great job exceeding our clients’ expectations and delivering superior services and results. Whether this is your first tax season with Sax or your 20th, we are truly grateful for your hard work and dedication. We’ve also done a great job working to educate team members, clients, prospects and COIs on the updates and new information that continues to be released that impacts us. We must continue to have helpful and reassuring discussions with clients and further demonstrate our role as their valuable business advisor – now more than ever. For some exciting news, Accounting Today has ranked Sax #87 on their list of “Top Accounting Firms” in the country and as a “Regional Leader”. That moves us up 8 spots from last year (#95)! Our team is certainly the main component to our success, and we thank you again for your dedication to Sax and all that you do on a daily basis. We will be closing the firm at 12 pm on April 21st and entirely on April 22nd as a big thank you for everyone’s hard work and dedication this busy season.

Alexa graduated from Ithaca College with a degree in Business Administration and a major in Finance. She starts as an Associate Wealth Advisor at the Parsippany office effective March 7th, 2022. Fun fact: One of Alexa's favorite hobbies is to watch horse racing. In the summer, she enjoy spending weekends up at Saratoga Race Course and is looking forward to attending the Kentucky Derby this Spring. Great Cards Edward Cooper deserves a Great Card because he has stepped up to provide technical expertise on a number of trust clients that we serve. He has a terrific attitude and approach.

Euna Choi deserves a Great Card because she has a terrific attitude and continues to perform highly. She discovered a balance sheet discrepancy on two related returns, which is especially impressive considering the fact that she was not working on them simultaneously. She has stepped up during busy season. Adam Carcione deserves a Great Card for being an absolute life-saver during busy season. He deals directly with the clients which takes the stress of our plates and gets things done quickly and responds late when someone needs to be added to GFR real quick for publishing.

A big thank you to Ella Valdes and Elena Klarberg who were all instrumental in meeting all of our client needs and deadlines! Mayank Shah worked late hours to help to correct a return for a client that is outside his responsibility. He also trained team members so they could understand how to handle it in the future, which is a great example of knowledge transfer.

Candace Deosingh went out of her way to help resolve a very difficult tax filing issue on a client that she does not serve. We are beyond grateful for her skills in navigating this issue, as we would not be able to file these returns without her guidance and expertise.

To all the members of our Business Services Group for your outstanding work so far this year! Despite departmental staffing issues, delays created by our filing agencies, and an ever-growing amount of work, the BSG team continues to support our Firm with Excellence, Diligence and Speed.

Cyberattacks increasingly seem to target large-scale US infrastructure. The Biden administration has focused on shoring up US cyber defenses in recent months to protect against overseas attacks, including government entities and major businesses. But vulnerabilities always exist, and all it takes is one breach. Please be careful when reading your e-mail messages. This includes clicking on any weblinks or opening attachments of messages that look obviously bogus or suspicious. Please keep your Internet surfing habits to work-related websites. Prohibit downloading any applications, games, etc. Only access documents from Firm approved document portals, i.e., GoFileRoom, Client Portal, etc.

2022 BUSY SEASON Guidelines & Reminders

Tax February 7 to February 18 – 50 Charge Hours Per Week February 21 to April 15 – 55 Charge Hours Per Week

A&A Managers/Senior Managers – Busy season goal is 520 chargeable hours for the 13 week season from January 17 to April 15 Associates/Senior Associates – Busy season goal is 650 chargeable hours for the 13 week season from January 17 to April 15 All team members will continue to take a one-hour lunch break during the busy season. The core hours of the office are from 8:30am to 5:30pm, M-F Paid Time Off cannot be scheduled: For the A&A team from January 10 to April 15 For the Tax team from February 7 to April 15

Reminders Knowledge transfer and training (i.e., training so work can be given to seniors and associates) Business Managed and/or Engagements worked on Client service (Client Service Delivery Model) Realization; attainment of budget Technical expertise and growth TEAMS Meetings - Some individuals will be working remotely on engagements. Please set up a Teams Meeting for the days of your engagements, so everyone on the engagement, no matter where they are, can interact like you would if the team were all in the same room. Release Your Time Daily - We can’t stress enough the importance of releasing your time daily so managers can monitor progress on the job
