the pri M ary challenge of this project was integrating existing furniture into the overall design . this was addressed through thoughtful restoration of antique pieces , strategic re - upholstery and refinishing , and a cohesive color palette that sea M lessly bridges inherited ele M ents with new additions .

the client sought to create a residence that reflects the historic character of M orningside heights while offering a cal M , sophisticated retreat fro M the city . designed for a culturally M inded fa M ily , the space balances functionality with thoughtful curation an intentional M ix of vintage and custo M furnishings was used to achieve an effortless , layered aesthetic , e M phasizing M aterial richness , co M fort , and ti M eless appeal .
