But I love flamingos. They’ve followed me my entire life. I’ve always felt like a flamingo, sticking out like a sore thumb no matter where I go.
I’m a passionate graphic designer, but, more than that, I’m a change maker. I dedicate my art to progress. It’s why I’ve spent countless hours in The Daily Gamecock newsroom and long weekends away with the South Carolina Democratic Party. I’m using Illustrator to save the world, or at least I would like to think so.
When I’m not busy fighting corruption with a color palette, you can find me in the mountains with my Osprey backpack or sporting a pair of skis. If I’m looking for a slower pace, you’ll catch me curled up on my couch with a cup of hot tea and a good book.
I’m a recent graduate of the University of South Carolina with a degree in Visual Communications who is ready for her next chapter. My heart and soul have gone into these projects, so I hope you can love them just as much as I do.

In the summer of 2024, I joined the South Carolina Democratic Party as a design intern—creating social media content, campaign materials, and event branding. The role kick-started my path in political communications and led to even more opportunities in the field.

DNC 2024
The South Carolina Delegation for the 2024 Democratic National Convention (DNC) wanted bold, eye-catching merchandise for their week in Chicago—so I delivered. From t-shirts and tote bags to buttons, programs, and credentials, I designed a collection that captured the energy of the event and the spirit of the delegation.

The South Carolina Senate Democratic Caucus needed a major logo refresh—their old design was cluttered, hard to read, and barely connected to the state beyond an outline. To fix that, I crafted a custom illustration of the S.C. Statehouse and streamlined the text for a cleaner, more impactful look. Futura PT

I had the opportunity to design a series of social media graphics for the Democratic Governors Association, each with a distinct purpose. One, a striking news headline, was designed to be haunting and impactful. The other, a bold quote graphic, highlighted KY Governor Andy Beshear’s thoughts on the elimination of the Department of Education.
SCDP postelection report
Following the 2024 election, the South Carolina Democratic Party entrusted me with compiling their Post-Election Report—a deep dive into voter data from national and local races, all through the lens of South Carolina’s electorate.
S.C. house rep. on DEI legislation
To spotlight Democratic pushback against anti-DEI legislation in the SC House, I filmed and edited a short interview-style video with Representative Spencer Wetmore. In the clip, featured on SCDP’s social media, she explains why DEI protections matter to her and her community.
In my third and fourth year at the University of South Carolina, I served as the Creative Director of The Daily Gamecock–the award-winning student newspaper.
The Wrap-Up
To boost The Daily Gamecock’s social media engagement, I created The Wrap Up—a dynamic weekly video segment that recaps the biggest news of the week. I designed, animated, and edited the videos, setting the tone for a fun, engaging format, and developed a step-by-step editing guide to streamline production for the social media team.
faculty wage gap
When The Daily Gamecock investigated the faculty gender wage gap at USC, I brought the data to life with a striking infographic. Using coin illustrations—each representing $25,000—I created a visual breakdown of salary disparities between male and female faculty members in the same roles. This infographic went on to win first place at the South Carolina Press Association Collegiate Awards.
news magazines
As The Daily Gamecock moved away from its pandemicera, magazine-style print editions—long, themed books compiling content from entire semesters—the leadership team sought a bold return to a true newspaper format. Embracing this shift, they entrusted me to lead the transition, and to redefine the publication’s layout and restoring its dynamic, news-driven feel.
previous editions
with the design team to shape the style of the new News Magazine. I created a series of test layouts, presenting them to both the Design team and Garnet Media Group’s professional staff for feedback. Once approved, I developed a suite of template materials— including layout templates, section headers, and a detailed layout guide—ensuring a smooth and cohesive design process for the team.
After launching the first editions, we refined the News Magazine to better align with the organization’s vision and needs. Prioritizing photography over intricate design, the publication spotlights the most important stories each month. Releasing three times per semester, each edition captures the defining news of that period. Throughout Fall 2023, we gathered extensive design feedback, and used it to enhance and evolve each issue.

The Free Palestine Emergency Demonstration, organized by the NC & SC Party for Social Liberation and USC Students for Justice, took place on Oct. 17, 2023 at the South Carolina Statehouse. Supporters from across the city, including USC students, rallied with signs, chants, and speeches calling for solidarity with Palestine.
During my first two years on campus, I served as both a staff designer and later Creative Director for Garnet & Black Magazine, the university’s student-run publication.
layout
While serving as a staff designer and Creative Director for Garnet & Black Magazine, I designed spreads for the semesterly print magazines in 2021, 2022, and 2023. Each spread follows a strict style guide which outlines specific typefaces, colors, and spacing guidelines to ensure consistency across each publication.
calling all creatives
Garnet & Black has always had a spunky, alternative vibe. To attract students to join the organization, I designed a flyer that I felt would attract members from diverse backgrounds. It was used at the organization fair and on social media to promote the upcoming interest meetings.
spring 2023
In my final semester as Garnet & Black’s Creative Director, I set out to push the boundaries of print media. I built a team with expertise in design, coding, and videography, and the Editor-in-Chief and I enlisted a professor specializing in motion graphics and AR. Our goal: to create a publication that explored the future through augmented reality. Over the year, my team and I designed all of the animations and AR elements using Adobe After Effects and My Web AR. Scan any QR code in the magazine, and watch it come to life!

social push
To promote the new edition, I, along with a few G&B staff members, took staged photos of the Spring 2023 magazine for use on social media and digital signage in the USC School of Journalism and Mass Communications.
G&B on instagram
As Creative Director, I occasionally jumped in to design content for the Garnet & Black Instagram. These are just a few of the graphics I created to promote events, boost recruitment, and support fundraising efforts— each one crafted to reflect the brand’s bold, creative spirit.
A collection of class assignments and personal passion projects, this work highlights my skills beyond graphic design—focusing primarily on photo and video to tell stories in new and creative ways.
self portraits
Shot and lit by yours truly, these selfportraits were created for a Multimedia assignment in the fall of 2024. Instead of keeping things purely traditional, I set out to reflect a different facet of my personality in each frame—letting the lighting, mood, and composition tell part of the story.

Richland Library in Columbia, SC, I immersed myself in its world by attending events, exploring its spaces, and interviewing the Chair of the Friends and Foundation Board. Scan the QR code to watch the full video and experience the library’s
interface design
In my Design of Online Content course, we dove into the fundamentals of user interface and user experience. For our first project, we created a concept for an app and designed a simple, two-screen interface. I developed HeartThrob: a heart rate tracker tailored for young people. To connect with a younger audience, I embraced a young, modern aesthetic that felt both fresh and fun.
cap & gown
As spring approaches, so does the overwhelming demand for graduation photos. To help a friend out, I took their portraits in spots across campus that were significant to their time at Carolina.
