FoodSex was created by a guy and a girl in an attempt to eat their way through battles throughout the DFW Metropolitan area. Their first podcast was an inside look at the humor and banter that these two have for food and for fun. While their first podcast is riddled with bad sound quality and begins by entering a conversation listeners are confused about, the two manage to intrigue the audience and invite listeners to travel along.
The first pod was a battle amongst the two to try and find the best burger in DFW. Adam chose two restaurants, Shanon chose two restaurants, and off they went with a poorly designed scoring system to prove the other wrong. Shanon created a system to score restaurants in an attempt to find the Big O which included all 5 senses.
However, at the end of the podcast, you realize the two are announcing a winner that neither one of them can agree too due to the failure of the score cards. Total failboat, but a very fun listen. There is a lot of laughing throughout the first several podcasts. And if you can get over the atrocious sound quality, you cannot help but laugh as these two are hysterically infectious.
They clearly are not your typical foodies, but instead seem to be a pair of people that simply love food. I’m actually going to go as far as say that they actually don’t know shit about food. Like at all. They are self-proclaimed eaters.
Since the first podcast, the two have released several more pods. The formatting changes each time leaving listeners wanting to hang in to hear what is happening next. FoodSex has grown rapidly to include interviews of several restaurant owners and chefs as well as live tastings for listeners to learn more about the food in the area. The two have since traveled to include food outside of Dallas-Fort Worth with plans to travel all over. They have thankfully improved their sound quality.
They say if they can land a deal with a cruise liner; they will eat their way both on and off the boat giving listeners an opportunity to experience another flavor of cruising. (Hint. Hint. Carnival, Royal, Norwegian give them a call.)
