City officials said applications are now being accepted for vendors, performers, exhibitors, and parade participants across several events.

After a Violent Attack

Burbank Mayor Konstantine Anthony is facing criticism from conservatives following the circulation of a video showing him being spanked by a drag queen during an event on the weekend of September 10. Anthony has responded that some of his critics are motivated by anti-LGBTQ+ bias and that the incident was harmless.

The WeHo Pride Street Fair is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, June 6–7, and will span Santa Monica Boulevard. The free, public event is expected to feature LGBTQ+ community organizations, allied groups, artists, and exhibitors, along with live entertainment on a community

stage. Organizers said the fair is intended to highlight visibility, expression, and community participation.

Applications to participate in the Street Fair as an exhibitor are open through April 15, 2026. Food and beverage vendors seeking to participate should contact vendor@dlsevents.com for additional information or apply here.

In a post on his Instagram account, Anthony stated, “For several days, extremist right-wing organizations, including Fox News, have spread misleading information to fuel fear, discrimination, and hate. I will always be a proud supporter of the LGBTQ+ community and drag performers.”

The annual WeHo Pride Parade will take place Sunday, June 7, moving along Santa Monica Boulevard. The parade traditionally features floats, marching contingents, bands, dance teams, and other creative entries celebrating LGBTQ+ representation, inclusion, and progress.

In the video, posted by the Wisenuts podcast, Mayor Anthony is seen being spanked by a drag artist, backed by the Village People’s “Macho Man.” Anthony described the events as “shenanigans” and emphasized that it was

Prosecutors have filed multiple felony charges against a 27-year-old man accused of breaking into his former roommate’s West Hollywood apartment, killing the victim’s small dog, and damaging property during the incident.

He added, “On a busy Saturday filled with various independent gatherings, I attended the Santa Clarita Valley Democrats’ private fundraiser for their organization. Notably, there were no officially endorsed candidates or state and federal political figures present. The event was open to young adults ages 15 and above. However, there were no attendees below 18. Additionally, no children were present.”

Individuals and organizations interested in participating in the parade must submit applications by April 15, and can apply here. In a statement released on Tuesday, the Santa Clarita Valley Democrats voiced their support for Mayor Anthony and strongly denounced the sensationalized and inaccurate portrayal of their event for political purposes that promoted fear, homophobia, transphobia, and bigotry. The Democrats reaffirmed their commitment to the LGBTQ+ community and drag performers, refusing to engage with what they referred to as “fake outrage.”

Pride Flag removed from Stonewall National Monument, activists demand immediate reinstatement

Volunteers say rainbow flag disappeared from Christopher Park as LGBTQ advocates call for its return.

Federal officials removed the Pride flag that had been displayed at the Stonewall National Monument in New York City, according to volunteer caretakers. Within hours, during a press conference, LGBTQ activists said that there was no need to wait and demanded that the flag be replaced right then.

The volunteers who assist with maintaining the monument said the rainbow-colored flag disappeared as of Monday, Feb. 9. The flag had been mounted on a pole in Christopher Park, directly across from the Stonewall Inn in Greenwich Village.

The Stonewall Inn is widely recognized as the site of the 1969 uprising that became a turning point in the modern LGBTQ+ rights movement. Stonewall National Monument, established in 2016, is the first U.S. national monument dedicated to LGBTQ+ history.

Sean Stefanik refused to leave the monument after he was told that he and others would not be allowed to have a rally at the monument, and spoke his mind in this video.

The Stonewall Inn issued this statement via an Instagram post, “Taking down a flag does not erase our history. But it does remind

us why we cannot rely solely on governments to tell it.

The Stonewall Inn is privately owned and independently operated. We are not affiliated with the federal government, and we will never lower our flag or stop protecting our history.

The Stonewall National Monument was established to honor the origins of the modern LGBTQ+ rights movement. When symbols directly tied to that history are removed, it raises serious concerns about how our story is being stewarded.

LGBTQ+ history has too often been minimized, sanitized, or erased from official narratives. That is why the Stonewall Inn continues to stand as living history, protected and carried forward by the community itself.

The Pride flag at the Stonewall monument is not partisan. It is historical. We believe it should be restored.

That is why our history will never be erased, and at the Stonewall Inn, all flags representing our community will always continue to fly.”

The Mayor of New York, Zohran Mamdani, followed with a statement from his Twitter account that stated, “I am outraged by the removal of the Rainbow Pride Flag from Stonewall National Monument. New York is the birthplace of the modern LGBTQ+ rights movement, and no act of erasure will ever change or silence that history.

Our city has a duty not just to honor this legacy, but to live up to it. I will always fight for a New York City that invests in our LGBTQ+ community, defends their dignity, and protects every one of our neighbors— without exception.”

Visalia Unified investigates Redwood High seniors over homophobic slur in photo

School says students could face suspension after image circulated on social media.

School officials in Visalia are investigating after a photo shared on social media showed a group of high school seniors rearranging themselves while wearing t-shirts with letters on them to form a homophobic slur.

The image involves approximately 8 students at Redwood High School in Visalia, California. According to the Visalia Unified School District, the students were initially participating in a senior class photo spelling out “Class of 2026 Always Legit.”

At some point after the official photo was taken, the ASB senior students students reorganized themselves to spell a derogatory phrase, district officials said. The image was captured on Thursday, Feb. 12, during school hours following the scheduled senior photo session.

Redwood High’s principal characterized the conduct as “unacceptable” in a statement addressing the incident. The hateful phrase

reportedly refers to two middle school students that the ASB students saw during an orientation who were holding hands, according to the Fresno Bee.

A senior at the school told ABC30 Action News that the gymnasium was filled with hundreds of students at the time and said several of the students involved

are considered campus leaders. District officials said potential disciplinary action has not yet been finalized. Consequences could include suspension and loss of certain school privileges, depending on the outcome of the investigation and provisions outlined in the district’s code of conduct.

Prosecutors asked to add hate crime charge in Shia LaBeouf's arrest in New Orleans

Victim reports that LaBeouf used homophobic slurs during the Mardi Gras altercation.

New details surrounding an alleged Mardi Gras altercation involving actor Shia LaBeouf have led to appeals for a review of the charges in the case, according to Fox 8 News.

One of the men who reported being struck during the early-morning altercation is asking authorities to upgrade the case to include a hate crime allegation. The incident occurred during celebrations leading up to Mardi Gras Day, according to police.

In an official police report cited by multiple media outlets, LaBeouf, 39, is

accused of striking two men with closed fists while allegedly directing anti-gay slurs at them. The report states that the slurs were repeated during the confrontation and continued as officers responded to the scene and placed him under arrest.

One of the men involved, Jeffrey Damnit, said he first encountered LaBeouf on Royal Street during Lundi Gras celebrations and described the actor’s behavior as erratic. The man said he left the area but returned later in the evening, at which point the situation escalated.

LaBeouf was released on his own recognizance pending a court appearance on Mardi Gras Day. Local television stations later reported seeing him on Bourbon Street that night.

The initial charging documents did not reference allegations of slurs. The New Orleans Police Department said the case remains under investigation.

One of the alleged victims, an actor and

member of the Screen Actors Guild, has also called on union leadership to review the incident. LaBeouf addressed the arrest briefly on the social media platform X, posting, “Free me.”

After 100+ Restaurant Closures in LA, Here’s What’s Still Bringing People Out

Last year, Los Angeles lost more than 100 restaurants, most of which were independent businesses that had been staples of the community for years. Between rising rents, labor costs, tariffs, and a strong shift in consumer habits, the reasons for the closures are welldocumented in the media. In losing all of these businesses, there is a change in the LA atmosphere leaving people feeling like their nights out are less communal and more obligatory.

To have a successful small business in a major city like Los Angeles, the company’s priorities have to be intentionally defined in order to survive. There are only a handful of places that keep consistent crowds and while there are many puzzle pieces that need to fit together to have a successful establishment, it takes a special kind of dedication to delivering a high quality experience to become part of people’s routines. Shifting consumer habits have opened the door for businesses built around cultivating physical environments centered on social experiences.

One establishment that has positioned itself perfectly to thrive in the growing demand for genuine connection is Kavahana.

What is Kavahana?

Kavahana is a place in Santa Monica where people come to sit down, enjoy drinks, eat, and socialize, located at 306 Pico Blvd, Santa Monica, CA 90405. On the surface, Kavahana might seem like any other establishment, like a bar, or a coffee shop, but it is neither. It functions as a social anchor for the community, giving people a real opportunity to connect with each other while enjoying kava nectar drinks. Kavahana centers its menu around kava nectar, a zero proof drink made from the root of the kava plant, which has been enjoyed in the South Pacific and Hawaii for centuries.

Kavahana’s kava nectar is made by cold pressing fresh kava root into juice and gently drying it into a fine powder. Because the kava plant is grown from the ground

and the root is what’s used in the drinks, kava nectar is known to have a really earthy taste. When the powder is prepared as a drink, it delivers a subtle tingle on the tongue followed by a relaxed feeling which often leads to confident and relaxed socialization at every table.

Kavahana has a seat for everyone as people come in the morning to work, meet friends in the afternoon, and often stay throughout the evening. In a place that values slowing down, you’ll never be rushed out the door.

Kavahana opened at a time when many establishments were cutting hours and tightening operations. Instead of shrinking, it leaned into demand and became a place where people could linger. Kavahana, like many cafes, opens early, but it stands out by staying open late too, often until 1 AM on the weekend. Seating is offered in a way that encourages people to settle in for a while, instead of urging quick reservation rotation. The Kavahana experience starts the moment you walk in the door as familiar faces are welcomed by name and first-time guests are guided through the menu by staff.

Kavahana has made a strong positive impact on the community already and was even voted most loved new business in Santa Monica in 2025, reflecting its growing presence in the neighborhood. Customers consistently flow in and out throughout the day, typically staying longer than they would at a traditional cafe or bar.

Kavahana’s presence also extends beyond Santa Monica. The same kava nectar served behind the bar is shipped to all 50 states and Canada through their site. What makes the company especially unique is that it operates as both a hospitality space and a growing consumer brand. Guests can discover kava nectar in person and then continue the experience at home, something few establishments successfully bridge.

What does Kava Nectar Feel Like?

Many guests describe feeling more present in their surroundings after drinking

kava nectar without feeling overstimulated by their environment. For some people, it serves as an alcohol replacement, but for others it is part of their morning routine to start their day feeling relaxed. Kava nectar drinks are served both traditionally in coconut shells and as thoughtfully crafted zero proof cocktails made with ingredients like mango, coconut milk, ginger, pineapple, and spirulina.

Every menu item at Kavahana is procured right from the source. Beyond kava nectar, Kavahana also serves 100% Hawaiian Kona coffee supplied from Hawaii’s Big Island, along with ceremonial matcha and roasted hojicha. Kavahana meets people where they are at, offering multiple options for people to choose how they want to feel. People can come for coffee, stay for a kava nectar drink, and leave a few hours later having tasted a little of everything.

Kavahana is also very dedicated to building real connections within their community. Each week there are free open mic nights and comedy nights focused solely on creating space for people to support and form bonds with each other.

These events have no fees or minimums as they are designed simply to bring people together.

Kavahana has set the standard for prioritizing comfort and genuine connection in LA. In a world that is becoming more online by the moment, people want to leave their home and go somewhere they can feel human. Creating a space for this is exactly how Kavahana retains a strong customer base so effectively.

Los Angeles may be losing establishments, but people are not losing the desire for connecting with others through experience. If establishments are looking to survive this period of change, they need to prioritize the experience as a whole and realize people are looking for a sense of belonging, not just a place to eat and drink.

Mariah Hanson Sells The Dinah After 35 Years, passing festival to Bellarose Productions

The

Dinah 2026

Announced as Festival Shifts to New Ownership After 35 Years.

Ownership of The Dinah, the longrunning music festival and party centered on queer women, is changing hands after 35 years under founder Mariah Hanson.

Hanson has sold the Palm Springs–based event to Bella Barkow, The Dinah’s longtime operations manager, and Rose Garcia, a veteran emcee of the festival and real estate entrepreneur. The pair will operate the event under their newly formed company, BellaRose Productions.

Organizers said the sale keeps the independently produced festival within LGBTQ+ leadership. The Dinah is widely regarded as one of the largest and longest-running events dedicated to queer women, drawing attendees from across the United States and internationally since its founding in the early 1990s.

Barkow joined The Dinah team in 2018 and advanced from pool party stage manager to operations manager. Her background includes producing LGBTQ+ nightlife and large-scale events in Los

Angeles, including involvement with LA Pride and the Outloud Festival.

Garcia, a reality television personality and business owner, has served as an emcee for The Dinah and other LGBTQ+ events. She is known to some audiences as the reallife inspiration for the character “Papi” on The L Word and previously appeared on The Real L Word. Garcia leads the Garcia Real Estate Group and has been featured in national media outlets. She is also a Stage 3 ovarian cancer survivor who is now in remission.

The new owners said they plan to maintain the festival’s focus on queer women and LGBTQ+ community spaces while building on its legacy.

The 35th edition of The Dinah is scheduled for Sept. 30 through Oct. 4, 2026, returning to the Hilton Palm Springs and the Zoso hotel. Organizers said the entertainment lineup and additional programming details will be announced in June.

Founded in Palm Springs, The Dinah grew from a niche gathering into a nationally recognized LGBTQ+ cultural event over the past three decades, attracting performers, celebrities, and media attention from both mainstream and queer outlets. Hanson’s tenure established the festival as a prominent fixture in LGBTQ+ entertainment and community life.

Chappell Roan drops Wasserman Agency amid ongoing fallout from Epstein email revelations

The singer announced the move on social media as scrutiny continues over the agency founder.

The fallout continues for Casey Wasserman from the release of the Epstein emails and other documents. After the very personal emails that Wasserman sent to Ghislaine Maxwell, Jeffrey Epstein’s girlfriend, who is currently serving a 22year sentence for conspiring with Jeffrey Epstein to sexually abuse minors, were revealed, several LA leaders called for his resignation as the chairman of LA28. Wasserman issued an apology, but now

Chappell Roan has dropped the Wasserman Agency as her representation, effective on Monday. She announced this to the public through an Instagram story.

The statement said, “As of today, I am no longer represented by Wasserman, the talent agency led by Casey Wasserman. I hold my teams to the highest standards and have a duty to protect them as well. No artist, agent, or employee should ever be expected to defend or overlook actions that conflict so deeply with our own moral values.

I have deep respect and appreciation for the agents and staff who work tirelessly for their artists, and I refuse to passively stand by. Artists deserve representation that aligns with their values and supports their safety and dignity. This decision reflects my belief that meaningful change in our industry requires accountability and leadership that earns trust.”

Lisa Rinna Says She Was Drugged With Fentanyl at ‘The Traitors’ Premiere Party in West Hollywood

Former RHOBH star says she credits husband Harry Hamlin and co-star Colton Underwood for intervening.

Lisa Rinna said she suspects fentanyl was slipped into her drink at a January

premiere party for the reality series “The Traitors,” describing the incident as one in which she suddenly appeared far more impaired than the amount of alcohol she said she consumed, according to multiple media reports.

The former “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” cast member addressed the allegation Thursday during an appearance on “Good Day New York,” where she was promoting her memoir, “You Better Believe I’m Gonna Talk About It.” The comments followed a TMZ report that

Rinna had been drugged at an afterparty in Hollywood.

Host Rosanna Scotto asked Rinna whether she had been “roofied,” a slang term for being drugged without one’s knowledge. Rinna replied that she had.

Pressed on whether she was certain and whether she sought confirmation, Rinna said she took a test and believes fentanyl was involved.

Rinna credited her husband, actor Harry Hamlin, with helping her leave the event quickly. She also said “Traitors” co-star
