We are driven by the desire to keep our customers out on the water, enjoying their boats and our beautiful waterways. We do our best with integrity and honesty. With our Captain Tony Towns at the helm, we keep moving forward with new products and processes to keep up with new boating trends. We work hard to hire staff with the next generation of tech giving the “young bucks” a shot to honing their skills under the watchful eyes of Tony guiding them and teaching them the skills they need to be the best. Tony is tough and he expects their best, teaching them to always do our best the first time and keep our customers happy and boating. Abel’s Marine is a 4-line dealer offering Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, and Mercury. We are one of the few in our area with all 4 major outboard lines. Plus, we sell Avalon Pontoon and Savannah Boats. We are the only Minn Kota authorized service center in our area. We love our community and are blessed to be here for 23 years. Always moving forward and enjoying our waterways. Ricky Gill Owner

I’ve proudly called this community home since moving here in 1996 and graduated from Lemon Bay High School in 2006. My journey in lawn care began in 2011 while working as a Team Lead at Sam’s Club. I spent my evenings and days off mowing lawns, quickly discovering a passion for the industry and a vision for building something of my own.
In 2015, I took over Terra Verde Lawn Care, a company founded by Mike Soth in 1999 with just 34 properties—some of which we still proudly serve today. Through hard work, dedication, and the support of our loyal customers, Terra Verde has grown steadily through referrals and our commitment to quality service.

Family, employees, and customers are at the heart of everything we do. I believe in treating people with respect, leading by example, and fostering a team environment where everyone matters. I take great pride in our work and am grateful for the trust our customers place in us.
Being recognized as Englewood’s Best of 2026 is an incredible honor and a reflection of the support we’ve received from our community. I sincerely want to thank our customers, our team members, and everyone who has been part of this journey. We look forward to continuing to serve our community and growing together for years to come.

Honey-Do Enterprises, LLC
Born and raised in Englewood, Derek has spent the past 20 years building a strong reputation in the electrical and generator industry. Known for his ability to fix, build, and problem-solve just about anything, Derek and his wife, Sarah, turned that passion into a business when they founded Honey-Do Enterprises, LLC four years ago.
As a proud father of four, Derek is deeply committed to supporting the Englewood community and its youth. Over the years, he has volunteered countless hours building impressive stage sets for Lemon Bay High School, coaching the Miss Englewood Stingrays softball, and lending a helping hand wherever it’s needed. He also sits on the board for Englewood Adult Softball.

What began as a handyman business quickly evolved when Derek recognized the growing need for a dependable, local Generac dealer and service provider. Determined to fill that gap, he became a certified Generac technician and authorized dealer, allowing Honey-Do Enterprises to provide trusted backup power solutions for homeowners throughout the area.
Whether it’s tackling a long honey-do list or helping families prepare for storm season with reliable generator systems, Derek and the Honey-Do team are proud to serve the Englewood community they call home.

At Mike Douglass Plumbing, success isn’t by accident, it’s built on strong leadership, experienced professionals, and a commitment to serving the community with integrity.
As a full-service plumbing company, Mike Douglass Plumbing has paved the way in the home service industry by focusing on what matters most: quality workmanship, reliable service, and customer satisfaction.

 Leadership That Sets the Standard
At the forefront is Vice President
Josh Hale, a second-generation plumber who joined the Mike Douglass Plumbing team in 2017.
Over the past nine years, Josh has demonstrated that servant leadership, integrity, and hard work are more than values, they’re the foundation of success.
In his current role, Josh works closely with Englewood residents, helping turn remodeling visions into reality while ensuring every project meets the highest standards. He is deeply committed to protecting the health of the community by making sure all work complies with local and state regulations—because plumbing isn’t just about pipes, it’s about public safety.
Josh also believes success starts at home. Maintaining a strong work-life balance is a priority, and he looks forward to one day training his son as a third-generation plumber, continuing a legacy of service.

 Experience You Can Count On
Matthew Dupree, Service, Plumbing, and Re-piping Manager, brings over 30 years of plumbing experience in Southwest Florida, including 15 years with Mike Douglass Plumbing.
An expert in leak detection, troubleshooting, and system repair, Matthew has played a vital role in the company’s growth, helping build a team that now includes 36 dedicated employees. Known for his consistency and craftsmanship, he not only delivers high-quality work but also shares his knowledge with the next generation of plumbers.
A devoted family man, Matthew is a husband, father of four daughters, and proud grandfather of five—deeply rooted in the same community he serves every day.

Driven to Grow. Built to Last. Frankie Renda, Sewer and Lining Specialist, is a true example of working your way up through dedication and determination.
Starting in the industry at just 19 years old, Frankie began by sweeping floors and handling basic tasks while learning the ins and outs of the trade. After moving to Florida in 2002, he focused on the sewer division, gaining hands-on experience and developing a deep understanding of the field.
As pipe lining technology evolved, Frankie worked closely with suppliers to master the process. In 2011, he joined Mike Douglass Plumbing—and has since helped grow and advance the company’s jetting, lining, and sewer division
Today, Frankie’s strengths in organization, scheduling, and leadership keep operations running efficiently. His motivation is simple: happy customers, a busy team, and a healthier community.

What Men Should Know About Prostate Cancer
What Men Should Know About Prostate Cancer
Health-conscious adults recognize the importance of staying on top of health-related issues, and that may involve educating oneself about certain diseases with the hope of understanding and reducing individual risk. For men, recognition of important facts about prostate cancer can help them better understand a disease that the World Cancer Research Fund International reports is the second most commonly occurring cancer in men.
• The Prostate Cancer Foundation and the Canadian Cancer Foundation report that one in eight men in the United States and Canada will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in his lifetime.

• Men are more likely to develop prostate cancer than they are melanoma and cancers of the colon, kidney and stomach combined.
• The PCF estimates that more than three million men in the U.S. are currently living with prostate cancer.
• The risk for prostate cancer increases considerably as men age. According to the PCF, roughly 60 percent of prostate cancer cases are found in men over the age of 65.
• Men who have a father, brother or son who has been diagnosed with prostate cancer could be twice as likely to develop the disease.

• The CCS reports the five-year survival rate for prostate cancer among men in Canada was 91 percent in 2022. By contrast, the five-year survival rate for all cancers in the same year was 62 percent. The American Cancer Society reports that the five-year survival rate for prostate cancer in the U.S. was 97 percent between 2012 and 2018.
• The PCF notes that prostate cancer often produces no symptoms, which underscores the significance of prostate cancer examinations. The ACS reports that the prostatespecific antigen (PSA) blood test is used mainly to screen for
prostate cancer in men without symptoms. Men are urged to speak with their physicians about testing for the disease, even if they are symptom-free.
The ACS indicates such a discussion for men who are at average risk for the disease should occur at age 50, while the MD Anderson Cancer recommends men open a dialogue with their physicians beginning at age 40.
Prostate cancer is a common yet treatable disease. Men are urged to educate themselves about prostate cancer and discuss prevention with their physicians.

After
“Wow! That is a lot nicer than I thought it would be. Great Job!” Those are the words our customers use here at Omni Marine after they see their new T-Top or Tower for the first time.
My job, as President of Omni Marine Enterprises, is to go beyond customer expectations and deliver the highest quality for a fair price. Our canvas and cushion shop, as well as our fiberglass shop, are held to that same standard. We are a one-stop shop for making your boat look like new, or accessorizing your new boat. I have put in a tremendous amount of time and hard work over the last 29 years to make Omni what it is today.
I moved to Englewood in 1978, at the age of 6, and graduated from Lemon Bay in 1990. Success has not come easily, but with hard work and consistency, Omni Marine has grown from one employee to nine. Along the way, I have opened 3 more businesses: a repossession company, a powder coat shop, and an excavation company. All have grown at a record rate. Along the entire journey, my 28-year-old son, Brandon, has been understanding how business ownership can pull you in different directions. I am always up for a challenge and at the end of the day, if the customer is happy, then that is the best advertising that you do not have to pay for.

That’s my goal. • Residential or Commercial

Jerry Kuhn Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Owner
Lemon Bay Mental Wellness Center, LLC
1460 S. McCall Rd. Suite 3D 941-681-0616 www.lemonbaymentalwellness.com
I earned a Bachelor of Science in Management and a Master of Business Administration in Global Management. After retiring from the Navy in 2004, I transitioned into corporate human resources and eventually became Director of Training for a Fortune 500 company. While I found success in that role, I felt drawn toward more meaningful, personal work helping others navigate life’s challenges and transitions. That calling led me back to school, where I graduated with honors in 2012 with a Master of Science in Counseling and Psychology.
During my internship, I worked as a therapist in inpatient crisis units and later served within the Manatee and Charlotte County school systems as a school counselor. Those experiences deepened my understanding of how anxiety, trauma, stress, family dynamics, and emotional struggles can impact people at every stage of life. During this time, I was also fortunate to marry my wife, Dana. Her support was instrumental in giving me the support needed to complete my internship.
In 2017, I became fully licensed and founded Lemon Bay Mental Wellness Center in Englewood, Florida, with a mission of providing compassionate, grounded support for adolescents, adults, couples, and families facing anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, ADHD, substance use concerns, and other emotional challenges.
As the practice has grown, I’ve been fortunate to build a team that shares the same commitment to helping people feel understood, empowered, and genuinely cared for. Today, our clinical team includes Brittany Baumhardt and Skylar Sellitti, both of whom bring warmth, dedication, and individualized care to the clients and families we serve.
and accept many major insurance providers, including Florida Blue and Medicare.
Care network to help remove barriers to quality mental health care. We understand the unique stressors, transitions, and experiences associated with military life and strive to provide care that feels grounded, genuine, and supportive. Drawing from our experience within local school systems, we also work closely with parents navigating academic and succeed emotionally and academically.

Wisconsinites are notoriously friendly, happy people and that is surely the case with Jeff Ament, who still is a Green Bay Packers fan, even though he has been a Floridian since 2010. No stranger to hard work, Jeff spent most of his life in the construction field building homes in his native WI.
This was a perfect segue into a real estate career here in beautiful Englewood, Florida, Jeff has a heart for community service and dedicates many hours to charitable causes. He has been happily married to his wife Donna, going on 42 years. Together they have two beautiful daughters, Christine & Tiffany.
He is the quintessential team player in the office and specializes in new construction, waterfront property and residential real estate in SW Florida.

Stop Filling Your Plate and Start Feeding Your Brain: A Guide for Men
Stop measuring your success by how busy you are. Instead, focus on what actually gets results. For professional men, the key isn’t piling more onto your plate; it’s about working smarter and protecting your energy where it counts.
1. Protect Your Peak Energy Hours
Start by guarding your best hours of the day. Early on, your brain’s prefrontal cortex is sharpest, perfectly primed for complex problem-solving. So, don’t let those prime moments slip away replying to emails or getting stuck in meetings that don’t yield measurable results. Use your first couple of hours on your most important projects. Leave all the routine paperwork and admin for later, when your focus dips.
2. Implement the “3-3-3 Rule”
A long to-do list leads straight to stress and distraction. Instead of slogging through endless tasks, zero in on the “3-3-3 Rule.” Each morning, pick three big tasks for the day ahead, three key goals for the week, and three that matter most for the month. Tackle these before anything else and let the less important stuff wait.
3. Combat Context Switching
Constant interruptions make deep work impossible. Every time you bounce from emails to chats to different projects, you lose precious brainpower. Take control: turn off any non-essential notifications, mark your calendar as “Do Not Disturb” for critical focus
blocks, and group similar tasks together so your mind doesn’t have to keep shifting gears.
4. Make space in your schedule for actual thinking
Don’t just execute, strategize. At least once a week, book one or two hours with zero meetings and zero screens. Use this time for planning, big-picture problem-solving, and honest reflection. Treat this appointment as immovable. It’s the only way to break free from autopilot and keep your work aligned with your goals.
5. Master Delegation & Automation
Finally, you can’t do it all. If you want to expand your impact, let go of busywork. Find repetitive, low-impact tasks and either delegate them, set up some automations, or use

AI where it fits. Freeing yourself from these chores means you can focus on what really
matters: making key decisions and driving your projects forward.
Hardware Over Hard Work: Must-Have Tech Hacks and Tools for Busy Professionals
Busy professionals know the trick isn’t doing more; it’s working smarter. The real gain comes from shaving off those tiny time leaks and automating the grunt work that clogs up your day. Set up your workspace with sharp hardware and AI-powered software, and suddenly, you’ve got hours back to focus where it counts.
Essential Hardware Upgrades
The right gear isn’t just about comfort; it saves your energy and keeps your head clear.
Start with an ergonomic mouse and keyboard. Get something like the Logitech MX Master series; your wrists will thank you, and the handy thumb wheels and gesture controls let you flip between apps and tabs fast, with no wasted movement. Upgrade your display, too. Working on a dual-monitor set-
up or an ultrawide screen means you can align reference documents next to your main work. No more constant minimizing or dragging windows around; just seamless multitasking.
Noise-canceling headsets are a lifesaver, especially in open offices or homes that never quiet down. Pick one with solid active noise canceling and AI noise suppression, so calls come through clearly no matter what’s going on in the background.
Productivity-Boosting Software
Software should feel like an extension of your own brain, not an extra chore.
Try AI meeting assistants such as Otter.ai or Fireflies.ai. They link up with your calendar, hop into your virtual meetings, and handle note-taking for you, transcribing conversations and

sending you action steps automatically.
Smart calendars just wipe away scheduling hassle. Apps like Reclaim.ai or Motion slot in tasks, routines, and deep work sessions around your existing meetings, so your calendar runs itself while you focus on actual work.
All-in-one workspaces like Notion or ClickUp corral everything: projects, notes, daily checklists, into one digital hub. Instead of digging through old emails or scattered docs, you find everything with a single search.
Actionable Tech Hacks
You don’t have to be a coder to
speed things up with tech.
Memorize a set of go-to keyboard shortcuts. Simple combos—think Alt+Tab to switch apps or Ctrl+C/Ctrl+V for copy and paste—add up, slicing away those micro-delays that waste hours every month.
Start using voice-to-text dictation. Speaking an email or a note is just faster than typing, and tools like built-in Mac Dictation or AI voice widgets make it a breeze.
Finally, protect your focus. Switch your messaging apps to ‘Do Not Disturb’ automatically during deep work blocks. You’ll block out interruptions and keep your attention where it matters, not splintered by every new ping.
With the right tech supporting you, your workday works for you, not the other way around.

Forget the Halfway Home Life: Why Top Leaders Are Tuning In, Not Spreading Thin
Balancing a demanding career with a strong home life isn’t about splitting time down the middle. It’s about giving your full attention wherever you are, whether you’re closing a deal or sitting at the dinner table. The most successful business leaders set solid boundaries, trust others to handle tasks, and make time for family, not as an afterthought, but as a priority.
Here’s how to hit your professional goals and stay present as a partner and father:
1. Draw Non-Negotiable Boundaries
Work and home blur fast if you let them. Protect your evenings and weekends. Set working hours, tell your team, and stick to them. Design a “unplug” routine, maybe a quick workout or a drive home, that
lets you shed the stress of work before walking inside. Put phones away at dinner or during family activities. Show up for your family with attention and energy.
2. Put Family on the Calendar
If it’s not scheduled, it slips through the cracks. Important work meetings make it onto your calendar; treat family the same way. Block off date nights, reading time with kids, or vacations. Coordinate schedules with your spouse so everyone agrees and knows what’s coming.
3. Delegate and Outsource
You can’t do it all, not at work and not at home. Build a strong team and hand off tasks at work. At home, hand off chores like cleaning, meal prep, or errands when possible. Take

those extra hours and invest them in your health and your relationships.
4. Take Care of Your Health
You’re no good to anyone running on empty. Sleep, exercise,
and downtime matter. Strong business performance and a steady presence at home both rely on your well-being. Make sure you’re sleeping enough and find outlets, sports, hobbies, whatever works, to recharge and avoid burnout.
5. Bring Your Family Into Your Work World
Don’t keep work struggles or wins to yourself. Share them with your partner; let them be part of your story. As your kids get older, help them understand what you do and why you work hard. It gives them perspective and lets them see you as a role model, not just a provider. Balancing it all isn’t about juggling perfectly. It’s about choosing what matters, being where your feet are, and letting the people you love see the real you, at home and in business.
