THE HISPANIC BUSINESS GROUP IS GAINING MOMENTUM In May 2022, the Santa Maria Valley Chamber formed the Hispanic Business Group (HBG) to strengthen and support our diverse business community. Through its first year, the group focused on gathering community members and putting together a plan of purpose. Stepping into the new 2023-2024 fiscal year, the Chamber has taken the opportunity to reflect on the success of the group and create a plan to build upon this foundation. The HBG has had great success in bringing together individuals and in collaborating with local partners. Through this group, the Santa Maria Valley Chamber has been able to expand our business support efforts and local partnerships by engaging in various events including CET (Center of Employment Training)’s Job Fair, facilitating Allan Hancock Business Startup courses, working with SBA and emergency relief programs, among several other community involvements.
