Key Insights and Actionable Recommendations for International Providers
14
1
The state of Delhi by itself loses most of its flavour when you look at it as a stand alone area. It blooms when you add the surrounding cities in other adjoining states that make “The National Capital Region” - one of the most progressive and vibrant educational hubs in India, that cannot be ignored by any international provider.
2
High literacy rates, excellent K12 schools, aspirational population with growing incomes and low density of colleges in the state combine together to form a golden addressable market, with a thirst for innovative models of higher education.
3
The political epicentre of the country that is lovingly called the heart of India, has all the key offices that drive the diplomatic, regulatory and policy frameworks. Networking here, with key stakeholders is a must do of any visiting international provider.
4
The Delhi Government is bullish on nurturing an entrepreneurship mindset and has allocated USD $4 million for Business Blasters startup scheme in schools, and USD $1.5 million for a similar scheme for seniors in higher education institutions. This area offers some interesting areas to be explored for partnerships as well.
5
Another unique area in higher education has been opened up with The Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University (DSEU) and can be enhanced further with international outlook. DSEU aims to change the existing paradigm of skilling, make skill acquisition aspirational and provide an opportunity to all for skilling, up-skilling, and re-skilling; while supporting and nurturing entrepreneurs and entrepreneurship.
6
The strategic location, culture, demographics and diversity make Delhi an excellent choice for being the centre of carefully curated design of an India immersion, exchange or social entrepreneurship program that can provide exceptional opportunity for learning, growth & exposure for visiting foreign students.
