CHICAGO, IL – Over 800 Indian Americans from Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin gathered on April 28, 2025, outside the Pakistan Consulate in Chicago to protest the brutal terror attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, which claimed the lives of innocent tourists. The attack, allegedly carried out by Pakistani infiltrators, sparked widespread outrage and calls for justice within the community. Organized by the U.S.-India Community Foundation and supported by over 25 organizations, the rally showcased grief, unity, and a firm stance against terrorism. Protesters carried banners and raised slogans like "Hindu Lives Matter," "Declare Pakistan a Terror State," and "Join Hands to Fight Terrorism," urging the global community to act against state-sponsored terrorism. Community leader Dr. Bharat Barai called for accountability and justice, receiving strong support from attendees. Amitabh Mittal of Vishwa Hindu Parishad of America denounced terrorism’s place in society, while former FIA President Rakesh Malhotra emphasized that the world must acknowledge Pakistan’s terror links. FIA President Hemant Patel stated, "Enough is enough — the world can’t ignore Pakistan’s role in cross-border terror." Other leaders echoed similar sentiments. Veteran leader Hari Bhai Patel emphasized the protest’s message of hope, while Santosh Kumar and Nirmala Reddy called for a unified stand against hatred and violence. Nirav Patel of the U.S.-India Community Foundation highlighted the rally as a multigenerational cry for justice. Dr. Ram Chakraborty, founder of Chicago Kali Bari, concluded, "This stand is for all victims of terror — justice is the path to peace." Leaders like Harinder Mangrola, Joy Shah, Veer Sharma, and others joined the protest, making it a strong display of unity and resolve against terrorism.
