NEGRIL REGION Celebrating Moments Together

Here we are, and this is what family is all about, celebrating moments together, laughing, sharing, having fun, and most of all, having each other’s backs through the seasons of life that matter most. We are Beaches Negril, more than a resort, we are one!

BINGO!

Bingo! The staff restaurant was buzzing as the resort's sports and social club hosted a fun-filled Bingo Pop-Up to kick off the club’s festivities. With laughter, excitement and a little friendly competition, it was the perfect way to bring everyone together and get the celebrations started!

TURKS AND CAICOS Next Level!

The launch of the Next Level Service DNA, "Starts with Us," was a tremendous success for the leadership team at Beaches Turks and Caicos. During the interactive workshop, the Learning and Development team engaged leaders at multiple levels in identifying and resolving challenges that may arise in daily operations. The excitement and energy generated by the initiative were felt throughout the resort.

Leadership Impact

Providing the right preparation and support for team members at Beaches Turks and Caicos creates a positive impact across the organization. OCHI REGION Salute to Team Weddings

Sandals Ochi Beach Resort's executive team, along with Weddings Manager Kerry Ann McDonald, hosted a special breakfast to recognize the Weddings team for their exceptional contributions. General Manager Charles Blacher extended a warm welcome and thanked the team for their continued efforts in helping the department achieve its key performance indicators (KPIs). McDonald commended the team for the outstanding quality of their work, particularly during the exceptionally busy months of May and June. Members of the resort's management team were on hand to present the surprised team members with acrylic plaques, motivational key rings, and certificates of appreciation. Special recognition was given to Jason Cammock, Tamar Hamilton, and Ricardo Roberts for their outstanding performance and dedication.

Independence Day

On August 6, managers and team members at Sandals Ochi Beach Resort proudly commemorated Jamaica's 64th Independence Day by dressing in the national colours. The resort hosted a special celebration in the team member parking lot, featuring a delicious lunch spread with traditional menu items, engaging activities such as marbles and skipping, and an array of prizes and surprises. Adding to the festive atmosphere, classic music from years past filled the air while managers happily served team members throughout the event. Human Resources Manager Fiona Francis highlighted the importance of creating opportunities for team members to experience and celebrate Jamaica's rich culture and traditions. The day's activities generated excitement and enthusiasm among attendees, with many enjoying the games, music, and dancing. For younger team members, the event also provided a valuable opportunity to learn more about traditional Jamaican foods and their preparation, making the celebration both enjoyable and educational.

SRI The Thunder Games!

Our corporate offices in Jamaica recently held its annual Thunder Games – a thrilling, Olympics-style series of fierce but friendly competitions that sees team members randomly split into four dynamic teams: the red Flames, green Lanterns, blue Spartans, and yellow Stingers. The games were pure electricity with teams going head-to-head in football, netball, volleyball, quiz, table tennis, Jenga, a fitness challenge and a host of other matchups. Congratulations to the Stingers for lifting this year’s championship trophy.

Three Years On: St. Ann Communities See Lasting Change from Sustained VPASandals Foundation Partnership There is a transformation taking shape in two St. Ann communities following a three-year social intervention programme implemented by the Violence Prevention Alliance (VPA) and the Sandals Foundation. Valued at some JA$21,000,000, the initiative saw a strategic investment in the people of Steer Town and Chalky Hill through five interconnected programmes of psychosocial support, child and youth resilience, economic empowerment, community engagement and positive masculinity programming to strengthen resilience, expand livelihood opportunities and promote safer, more supportive environments. Delivered consistently from July 2023 to June 2026, the results, detailed in VPA's newly released end-of-project report, show 42 young people completing job readiness training, with eleven already securing employment. Eight residents were trained as entrepreneurs; with 6 who have

since launched active businesses, including Tallecia Murphy, founder of Fam's Printery and More, the first person in her family to formally register a company. More than 50 men and boys took part in the Big Man Ting Positive Masculinity workshop, a positive-masculinity programme built around honest conversation rather than lectures. Two Peace Gardens, built with students' own hands, remain in daily use at Steer Town and Chalky Hill primary schools, and 31 parents completed parenting workshops alongside a Child Resiliency Programme. "I see them thinking before they act now — especially one child who would usually storm out of class," shared *Joan Brown*, a participating teacher.

Each programme was designed to reinforce the others: children in psychosocial support also took part in Peace Garden activities, youth who completed job readiness training moved into entrepreneurship support or job placements, and

schools and families stayed engaged throughout. When Hurricane Melissa struck, the project didn't pause, it expanded psychosocial support to meet the moment while keeping every other component on track. That approach echoes where national policy has been heading. Jamaica's murder rate hit a 31-year low in 2025, with government officials crediting social intervention and communitybased prevention, alongside enforcement, as key to the results. The Steer Town project offers a community-level example of that principle in action: addressing root causes, unemployment, trauma, limited opportunity — rather than responding to incidents after the fact. Karen Zacca, Director of Operations at Sandals Foundation and project manager says the programme’s success was built on three years of consistent presence. “Real change in a community takes time and trust. Three years in, we're seeing it in the classroom, in the development of these new

businesses, and in the way our men are showing up for their families.” Speaking to why the Foundation committed to a multi-year investment, Zacca says, “We wanted to invest in something that would still be standing after we left — not just an event, but a system of support the community could carry forward. Three years later, that's exactly what we're seeing." For VPA Project Coordinator, Jonelle Llewellyn, a major success of the programme came through a positive shift in how men understood how they could show up for themselves, their family and community. “One of the most meaningful aspects of this project was seeing how conversations around masculinity

could move beyond the traditional expectations placed on men. Through Big Man Ting, men were encouraged to look honestly at how they communicate, respond to conflict, show up in their families and the kind of role models they want to be in their communities. For me, positive masculinity is not about telling men how they should behave; it is about creating a safe space where they can reflect, challenge behaviours and beliefs they may have grown up with and recognise that there is always an opportunity for growth. That kind of self-reflection is an important part of preventing violence and building healthier relationships.” Myles, a participant in the Big Man Ting Former General Manager of Sandals Dunn’s River, Deryk programme echoed this shift noting, “For a long Meany shares a motivational talk to the Hospitality Training Programme participants. time, I measured my worth by my silence. Digging Deep: How BNG's Assistant Security Manager Brought Service DNA to Life What would the Assistant Security and Loss Prevention Manager at Beaches Negril be doing rummaging through a dumpster? The answer to that question begins with the disappearance of a very important personal item belonging to a couple staying at the resort. When the item went missing, Assistant Security and Loss Prevention Manager Jenor Gibson sprang into action, embodying the spirit of the fictional British detective Sherlock Holmes. Like Sherlock, Gibson employed extraordinary powers of observation, deduction and logical reasoning to track down the missing item, a bag, which he believed was buried deep within the resort's dumpster. Acting on that assessment, Gibson coordinated and arranged for the skip to be searched over two consecutive days. His actions caught the attention of the resort's General Manager, Lancelot Lebert, who said Gibson demonstrated extraordinary leadership and commitment in resolving the matter. "Rather than simply directing team members to undertake the challenging search, he personally entered the skip and worked alongside the team in an effort to locate the missing bag," Lebert commented following the discovery of the item, which Gibson had correctly deduced would be found in the dumpster. Lebert further praised Gibson's sense of responsibility and teamwork, noting that his actions set an example for others. In recognition of his efforts, the General Manager also penned a personal letter of commendation to Gibson. Explaining what motivated him to climb into the dumpster alongside his team, Gibson said he believed the investigation warranted that level of commitment. He added that he firmly believes in leading from the proverbial front. "I am passionate about the role I play and, when a guest's belongings are reported missing, I take that responsibility personally. I believe an investigation should never stop at what is convenient; it should

12

follow every reasonable lead until all options have been exhausted. "For me, leadership in Security and Loss Prevention is not simply about giving instructions or reviewing reports. It is about being willing to lead from the front, take ownership, and demonstrate through my actions the level of dedication I expect from myself and my team," Gibson said.

"I operate from a principle of exceeding expectations through ownership, accountability and a relentless commitment to achieving the right outcome. I believe it is also a principle shared by security leaders across the chain who take pride in protecting our guests, our colleagues and the reputation of our organisation. In that moment, I was focused on recovering the guest's property and obtaining answers."
