The program also featured the presentation of a Senate Resolution by Senator José Menéndez, honoring SAAA’s newly elected volunteer leadership. Nearly 20 members were recognized for completing the prestigious SAAA Leadership Lyceum Classes of 2024 and 2025, reflecting the next generation of industry leaders The evening also featured several meaningful recognitions, including Gary Greene receiving the esteemed Stanley Hammer Award and the installation of Emery Johnson as San Antonio Supplier Council President Outgoing 2025 President Sunny Davila was honored with a beautifully curated photo collage canvas, and her 2025 Star Awards were presented to Ryan Baldwin, Chris Brown, Ortiz McKnight PLLC, Robert Davila, and Erin Crawford. The Ross Family President’s Award was presented to Executive Director Kyle Ward in recognition of his leadership and service to the association. The night was an unforgettable celebration of those who continue to step up and move our industry forward.

My name is Alan Ross, and I am honored to serve as the 2026 President of the San Antonio Apartment Association.Istepintothisrolewithdeeprespectfor the leaders who came before me and a clear commitment to strengthening this association for those who will lead it in the future. As a thirdgeneration member of my family to serve as president, I am deeply aware that leadership is not about a single year it is about stewardship, continuity, and preparing the next generation to succeed. This message is a personal one to share whereweareheaded, whatwearebuildingtogether, andwhatIbelieveleadershipwithinSAAAlookslikein theyearahead.
As we step into 2026, I want to begin with a simple message: this year is about momentum.

Momentuminhowweengageourmembers. Momentuminhowwedevelopleaders. Andmomentuminhowweadvocateforthefutureofourindustry.
The San Antonio Apartment Association enters this year with a clear focus on participation, education, andinfluence andwithanexpectationthatleadership issomethingwedo, notjustsomethingwetalkabout

I encourage every member who sees themselves as a leader to do two things this year: support our Political Action Committee and get involved in a committee. Contributing to the PAC ensures our industry’s voice remains strong and effective, and committee involvement is where leadership is developedandmeaningfulprogressismade.Bothareessentialtothesuccessofourassociation.
