A NATIONAL PILLAR FOR EDUCATING WITH STRENGTH AND PURPOSE SINCE 1841
Welcome to a place that prepares you for everything you want to achieve.
At Samford University, you’ll build the skills for a career of impact. More than that, you’ll grow into everything God invites you to become. Your professors here are experts who challenge, inspire and support you. They are mentors who guide you and spiritual advisers who pray with you.
At every step, through fieldwork, research, campus worship, study abroad and internships, you will build the strengths that prepare you for everywhere you want to go.
Samford’s passionate support was clear to Sadie HuYoung from her first day on campus. At every step of her growth, she found friends and faculty committed to her success. Now, Sadie‘s involvement has included Greek Life, Samford Recruitment Team, Samford Orientation Team and Samford University’s National Council on Family Relations. She supports others with faith and friendship as they walk toward their own goals. At Samford, remarkable support leads to remarkable achievements no matter your career path.
“At Samford, I have been IMMERSED IN A CHRIST-CENTERED COMMUNITY that has directed me toward embracing and evolving into who the Lord has uniquely designed me to be. Being part of a university that SEAMLESSLY BLENDS FAITH AND LEARNING has given me the confidence to explore new passions and cultivate meaningful connections that I will value forever.”

Samford’s legacy of excellence is embodied in faculty like Ahinee Amamoo, PhD. Professor Amamoo has over 20 years of public health experience as a biostatistician and epidemiologist and currently serves as a professor and director of Graduate Studies at Samford. Her compassion for community is reflected in and outside the classroom through knowledgeable curriculum and selfless mentorship, continuing Samford’s tradition of achievement where faith and learning meet.
Professor Amamoo is passionate about giving back to her community, serving as a missionary and engaging students through her mentorship.

Mentorship is one of the MOST REWARDING parts of my job at Samford. I am able to watch my mentees grow academically, socially and spiritually as they begin to discover and embrace their GOD-GIVEN CALLING in life.”

Samford’s Campus Cadres offer a sense of belonging that can nurture what is best in you. In these small groups, faculty, staff and students meet throughout the semester to talk about a book, biblical subject or a special topic. For many students, they are a core part of spiritual life and growth at Samford. The mentorships and friendships built in Cadres stay with Samford students wherever they go.
At Samford, our Christian faith runs through everything we do, from classroom discussions to residence hall activities to acts of service. Samford students have the opportunity to gather for campus worship weekly, led by their fellow students. They also serve together on mission trips throughout our city and our world.
“
Cadres make the campus smaller and allow students to find a home and a spiritual identity in the community.”
BRYAN GILL
Director of
the Office of Faith, Learning and Vocation
Bryan Gill, leader of the Faith and Learning Initiative at Samford, facilitates a Cadre for members of Samford’s Outdoor Adventure Club.
