Find the path to school.
Hi kids! It’s the first week of September, which means kids across the territory are preparing to head back to school. And one of the best parts about going back to school is getting to see all the friends we’ve missed over the summer. Friendships are important! As Christians, we are meant to be friends with everyone, and to love and support them. The Salvation Army has friends all over the world, and just like our friends at school, it is important for us to reach out to our friends and offer support when they need help. That’s why we have programs such as Brighter Futures, Gifts of Hope and Under the Tree, which you will read about in this issue of Just for Kids. As you head back to school for another awesome year, remember that God—and your friends—are with you!

T
he Salvation Army knows that a good education is important for kids. Every child should have the chance to learn and grow! The Salvation Army works hard to support others, even if they’re far away from us. Through programs such as Brighter Futures and Under the Tree, we are able to raise money to give kids across the world all the things they need for school, such as desks, backpacks and books. One student in Zimbabwe, which is a country in Africa, was so happy that he said, “Thanks to you, we have a wonderful education. You have given us the power to be the best in this world!” It’s a good feeling to know that we can help our friends. Jesus once said that it is better to give to others than to receive. And that’s what we believe, too.
