Wehaveusediconstoidentifywhichgoals areaddressedbyparticularprojects.

Withsponsorsupport,childrenfrom child-headedhouseholds,orphansand thosefromhomesledbytheelderlyor sufferingfromdiseaseareassisted with schoolfees, uniformsandschoolsupplies. Inaddition,allstudentsbenetfromthe assistanceofeducationalmaterials providedtotheirschool.

HOPE LIVES IN DHAKA

TheIntegrated Children’sCentre (ICC)isaresidential program locatedinDhaka,Bangladesh,that providesqualityeducation,housingand healthfacilitiesforupto48children,some ofwhomarevisuallyimpaired Presently,27 girlsand13boyscalltheICCtheirhome Builtonthesamecompoundisaschool wherethechildrenareintegratedintothe regularcurriculumwithadditionalsupports asnecessary isbrightandspacious compoundprovideslotsofspace forthe childrentorunandplaysafely

Onanygivenday,youcanhearthe soundsofhappychildrenastheygoabout theirdaywithavarietyofactivities, suchas playing,studyingordoingchores.

Duringschoolhours,someofthe visuallyimpaired boysattendaclassthat teachesthemhowtomakestoolsoutof bamboowhichcanthenbesoldinlocal markets.isopportunityprovidesalife skillthattheboyswill alwayshave,andfor some,thismaybeameansofsupporting themselvesinthefuture

providedbyBrighterFuturesChildren’s Sponsorshipfundingandaccordingtothe staffatthehome,hasmadeabigdifference inthecleanlinessofthedorm.

CaptainSaraBapai,presentlythe EducationandMissionSupportOfficerat theSalvationArmyBangladeshCommand, movedintothehomeattheageofsixand grewupthere Shespeaks ofhertimeinthe homeasahappytimeandsays“theytaught ustodomanythingslikesewingand cookingandkeepingourroomsclean.”

locatedinPapuaNewGuinea’s capital,PortMoresby.Situated withinacitythatishometoover250,000 people,theclinichasproventobeavital resourceforthecontinuedhealthofthe area.

InPapuaNewGuinea,KokiClinicis classiedasaStage3healthcentre(the equivalenttoaCanadian‘UrgentCare Centre’).Itoffersoutpatientsupportand alsofocusesonHIVandsexually transmittedinfections,particularlyfor at-riskpersons,suchassexworkers.

Withinthersttwomonthsof2017, KokiClinictreatedover2,800patients. Withonly23staffmembersandfrequent poweroutages,theclinicfacessignicant challengesinitsoperations.

Worsestill,KokiClinicexperiences frequentcutstoitswatersupply When thishappens,thefacilityhasnochoice buttoclosedownandturnpatientsaway.

Medicalfacilitiescannotprovide adequate,hygienicserviceswithout steadyaccesstowater–custodialstaff mustbeabletosanitize,healthcare workersarerequiredtomaintainclean handsand,mostimportantly,incidences ofheavybleedingtraumadependona consistentwatersupply.
