The Meaning of Christmas Christmas is a lighted tree With gifts beneath for you and me. Christmas is a candle’s glow That shines upon the fallen snow.
Christmas is a star to light Our pathway through the dark of night. Christmas is an angel’s song That tells of Him Who now is born. Christmas is a stable dim Where shepherds come to worship Him. Christmas is that Babe grown tall Whose life, whose death brings peace to all. Chris Ahlemann

The Angel Gabriel’s Visit A quiet girl named Mary prayed, When suddenly a light displayed. An angel stood with wings so bright, Sent from heaven’s holy light. “Fear not, Mary,” Gabriel said, As golden light around her spread. “You are chosen, blessed above, To carry God’s great Gift of love. A Child shall grow beneath your heart, The Savior sent to earth to start A path of peace, of grace, of light, To guide God’s children through the night.” Mary listened, filled with grace, Heaven’s glow upon her face. With humble faith and gentle voice, She answered God with willing choice. “Let His will in me be done, For I will trust His Holy Son.” And angels sang through Heaven above, For Christmas began with faith and love. Spirit of Christmas An angel on a tree, My silver guiding light; And you’re the one I trust, You’re always by my side. An angel on a tree, A perfect Christmas day; You fill my heart with joy, And you take my pain away. An angel on a tree, The Winter sky above; You bring a sense of peace And deep, abiding love. An angel, on a tree, My teacher and my guide; My prayer in the night – You’re always by my side. Tatiana Lyulkin

All Roads Lead to Bethlehem It was just a little town With a busy, crowded inn – Not a place where you’d expect A King to enter in. The keeper of the inn, so rushed With pleasing many guests, Knew not the weary couple’s plight Who sought a place to rest. No room for them in the inn – No royal crib His bed. The little King, Heaven-sent, Lay in a stable shed. But in that humble stable, Heaven came down that night As angels hovered o’er the Babe – A truly awesome sight! Poor shepherds came and knelt in prayer; Their hearts their gifts to bring. Magi, star-led, brought rarest gems Fit for a newborn King. His Star still shines to point the way, If we but seek the light. All roads lead to Bethlehem On this His dear birth night. Kay Hoffman
