WHAT'S NEW WITH THE MAT? In M ay, we welcomed the fourth cohort of our M aster of Arts in Teaching program. The program began in 2019 as an innovative and accelerated option for those interested in earning their master?s degree and initial teaching license in one year. We quickly discovered that it was also a great option for licensed teachers seeking a master?s degree and additional endorsement in either special education or teaching English language learners. Since the program began, seventy- nine students have graduated with their master?s and initial license and/ or additional endorsement, with another twenty- four scheduled to complete the program in M ay 2023. Although we are still collecting data from our third cohort, we are proud to announce that the program has a 100% job placement rate among graduates seeking a teaching position for our first two cohorts.
