Rancho Sahuarita has announced its inaugural Rancho Sahuarita Lakeside Run 5K & Fun Walk, happening Sunday, April 26, 2026.
Powered in partnership with the incredible team at Run Tucson, the event will include a scenic 5K run route that winds through the picturesque community of Rancho Sahuarita, and a 1-mile Fun Walk around Sahuarita Lake.
Proceeds from the event will benefit Diamond Children’s Medical Center, supporting their vital mission to provide critical pediatric care to children across Southern Arizona when they need it most.
Families are invited to enjoy entertainment in our Family FunZone, and all participants can relax and celebrate in the post-race area following the event.

NASA Kids' Club is a safe, interactive space where children can learn about the latest space missions and the science of the universe. MindForge Play Studio: A New Community Play Space Is Coming to Sahuarita and It’s Unlike Anything You’ve Experienced
This spring, a new kind of play and learning space is opening in Sahuarita — one designed for children, teens, adults, and families to build, create, and spend unhurried time together.
MindForge Play Studio, opening soon at the Rancho Sahuarita Marketplace, is a handson community space where guests can pull a LEGO® set from the shelf and build it together, sit down with a board game, design a marble run, or add to a shared LEGO® community build world — all without timers, pressure, or overstimulation.
At the heart of MindForge is The Forge: a large, collaborative LEGO® world table where visitors contribute to a shared build that evolves over time. Around it, shelves are intentionally stocked with LEGO® sets, board games, marble tracks, and creative materials that guests are invited to use freely during their visit. There’s no required path or scheduled activity — families and friends follow their curiosity and move at their own pace.
MindForge is designed for shared experience. Children build alongside friends, parents, grandparents, teens, and caregivers — whether that means tackling a strategy game together, experimenting with a STEM challenge, or quietly constructing something side by side. A dedicated toddler area allows younger children to explore safely during open play hours, with features like a wind tunnel for launching parachutes and a rotating hands-on sensory bin, while older builders and adults engage in deeper projects and problem-solving.
