Summer has finally arrived, bringing relief to educators and those dedicated to the well-being of students. Despite the challenges faced during the pandemic, our students have shown remarkable resilience, grace, and kindness. As we enter another summer, we're excited to present various stories, including First Tee—Greater Sacramento's program that introduces El Dorado County students to golf. However, it's crucial to address the serious issue of the fentanyl epidemic, which has devastatingly affected our community. Through the tragic story of Zachary Didier, we learn about the dangers of fentanyl-laced pills and the important work being done by his parents, Laura and Chris Didier, to raise awareness among secondary students. In addition, we provide recommendations for exploring the towns east of Serrano, such as Cool, Georgetown, and Coloma, while emphasizing the importance of safety for summer activities like whitewater rafting. Wishing you a fantastic summer!
