Built for the biggest adventures and the largest crews, the Prime Time Avenger 30PO is a triple-slide travel trailer that truly defines spaciousness. What is RV insurance?
How can RV insurance protect you?
Do you really need RV insurance on your travel trailer?
As RVers, we know the allure of the open road and the freedom it offers. However, with freedom comes responsibility, including the important decision of securing insurance.
RV insurance is designed to cover various types of RVs, including travel trailers, toy haulers, motor homes, fth wheels, and camper vans. While liability insurance is not required for most travel trailers, having RV coverage could bene t you and your adventures.
• Protection against accidents: May provide nancial protection for repair costs, medical expenses, and liability in case of an accident.
• Coverage for theft and vandalism: Could help with repairs or replace your trailer with less out-of-pocket expenses if it’s lost or stolen.
• Natural disasters and weather events: May cover the cost of damage from storms, oods, or other natural disasters.
Is your travel trailer covered under your home or auto insurance?
While your home or auto policy can protect your trailer in certain instances, it can also leave you with gaps in your coverage.
*Available for RVs less than 6 years old, and a $250 deductible applies
insure your investment
For example, your auto policy may only cover your trailer while you’re on the road, not if you’re parked or at a campsite. The same goes for home insurance—if you’re on your home’s property it might be covered, but damage from a storm at a campground wouldn’t be.
What specialized coverages does Progressive offer?
Progressive offers a variety of specialized coverages that aren’t included on a standard auto insurance policy like:
• Roof Protection Plus®: Covers repairs or replacements for RV roofs, including if the cause is wear and tear.*
• Pest Damage Protection SM: Covers the cost of repairs from pest infestations.*
Con
dence on the road
Having RV insurance gives you con dence you’re protected no matter where you roam. From remote national parks to bustling campgrounds, RV insurance ensures you have the support and nancial protection you need if something goes wrong.
While insurance for your travel trailer may not be legally required, it’s a crucial investment in protecting your RV, nances, and peace of mind.

FROM THE PUBLISHER
IBELIEVE 2026 IS GOING TO BE A TURNING POINT, not just for the RV industry, but for how people choose to spend their time.
More and more folks are leaving the matrix. We have all been told to think outside the box, but it turns out you actually have to get outside the box—actually get outdoors—if you want any real clarity. That’s where perspective lives. That’s where priorities reset.
We’re going to see people choosing experiences over things. People will be downsizing their lives so they can travel more, camp more, road trip more, and explore without everything being scheduled down to the minute. Less planning, more living.
This is exactly why RV Today exists.
We may see a younger audience easing into the lifestyle through camping, cabins, cottages, and weekend escapes before they’re ready for full-time RV ownership, and that’s how lifelong outdoor enthusiasts are created. You don’t start with the keys. You start with curiosity.
We’re also seeing a return to more analog ways of living. People are picking up real cameras again—film cameras and Polaroids, the kind where you don’t know exactly how the photo turned out until later.
People are also using actual pen-and-paper journals—writing things down and keeping a record of experiences instead of broadcasting them in real time or posting about them.
We were never meant to just commute, work, eat, sleep, and repeat until we run out of time.
Experiences do cost money. And the right gear, sometimes including an RV, can absolutely unlock some of the best experiences out there. RV Today exists to help people understand what’s possible, what kinds of recreational vehicles are available, how they’re actually used, and which ones fit different lifestyles. At the same time, we believe everyone should start exactly where they are, with what they have.
Whether that’s a tent, a borrowed camper, a weekend rental, or a fully loaded rig, the point isn’t what you own. It’s that you go.
Don’t worry about thinking outside the box. Get outside of it first. The thinking will take care of itself.

Family-Friendly FIFTH WHEELS
When families RV together, the RV’s layout can be very important. Fifth wheels can be a great option for families due to their defined spaces for living and sleeping, as well as their larger footprints. The added space can make it easier to manage all the kids, gear, pets, and other realities of life on the road.
The following models represent a range of current fifth wheels manufactured with families in mind. Each approaches space a little differently, but all are designed to support everyday use while remaining practical for families of all sizes who travel together.
Always be sure to check the compatibility of the towing capacity of your vehicle and your towable RV of choice. RVs are listed in no particular order. Not all features are listed. Please visit the manufacturer’s website for up-to-date information.

What has been your most memorable RVing moment?
Our most memorable RVing moment was hosting the first-ever Sunset Park RV Owners Rally as official brand ambassadors.
What started as a vision to bring people together turned into a weekend filled with laughter, storytelling, potlucks, repairs, campsite tours, and friendships that continue to thrive long after the rally ended.
It was more than just an event; it was the beginning of a community. We welcomed owners from all over the country who share a common love for travel, simplicity, and adventure. What started as a vision to bring people together turned into a weekend filled with laughter, storytelling, potlucks, repairs, campsite tours, and friendships that continue to thrive long after the rally ended.
As hosts, we poured our hearts into every detail, planning group meals, horse and buggy rides, prize giveaways, and campfire conversations. It was surreal seeing people connect over shared experiences and watching firsttimers feel right at home.
Is there anything specific that made you want to RV?
For the first time in decades, we weren’t juggling school schedules, sports practices, or college visits. We had spent so long giving our all to our family that we had almost forgotten what it felt like to dream for ourselves.
We weren’t lost—we were just ready for something new. RVing became our way to rediscover the world and each other. No more waiting for “someday.” We wanted to slow down, take the back roads, and make memories just for us.
Now we spend our days chasing sunsets instead of deadlines and falling in love with a lifestyle that reminds us that the best adventures are the ones we take side by side.
FEATURED RVERS
What’s something about you that people might find surprising to know?
As brand ambassadors for Sunset Park RV, we use our love for the open road to bring people together. From themed rallies and
group campouts to giving back through state park cleanups, we believe RV life is about more than travel—it’s about community.
We’re the couple who will welcome you with a hug, remember your
dog’s name, and maybe even pull off a friendly prank before the weekend’s over. We laugh a lot, work hard behind the scenes, and live for the moments when people who arrived as strangers leave as friends.
We believe RVing should be equal parts adventure and joy. We also incorporate hiking, biking, fishing, kayaking, and camp cooking into our RV adventures.
Our YouTube channel, rallies, and ambassador role with Sunset Park RV all reflect who we are: playful, welcoming, and passionate about making others feel included. We’ve built a community where people feel like they belong.
At the end of the day, we’re just two people who love each other, love to laugh, and love this crazy, wonderful RV life.

The Basics
Water, dump stations, and trash
• Dump stations are available at most gas stations. There’s usually a short line.
• Potable water can be found at select gas stations, local establishments, and parks.
• Trash disposal at the landfill has a small fee, and a nearby recycling center accepts cans, plastics, and cardboard.
Showers, laundry, and groceries
• Showers: Inexpensive at the Moab Aquatic Center—perfect after a day outdoors.
• Laundry: There’s a convenient laundromat in town.
• Grocery stores: Stock up on essentials at the local grocery store in Moab before heading to the campground or into the parks.
While you’re busy seeing the sites, build in time for rest. Especially if you choose to boondock, you might see a special surprise in the sky. Hot air balloonists often take to the air above the red rocks, and paragliders also float by.
If you take the time to visit Moab, it will be worth your while. There are few places in America with such a high concentration of otherworldly views.

TEST DRIVE FOREST
RIVER SABRE 37 “RV MILES” EDITION
You can tour an RV on a dealer lot and learn a few things about it, or you can actually test it out in the wild by using it and living in it. That’s what Test Drive is here for.
In this first Test Drive, we’re featuring the Forest River Sabre 37RVMILES. This unit caught our attention because it was built as a collaboration between Sabre and Jason and Abby Epperson of RV Miles. In our opinion, more manufacturers should be collaborating with people who RV full time. There’s a level of practicality and lifestyle awareness that you can only get from living in these things, and it shows.
Designed by RVers for Real Life
The Eppersons designed this model for a niche that doesn’t get nearly enough attention: families with older kids and teens. They weren’t aiming
for the toddler-and-bunkhouse crowd. They wanted something for a family that needs space, privacy, workable sleeping arrangements, and room for work and hobbies. And frankly, they nailed it.
That said, the bonus room also works for people without kids. It converts easily into a guest room, office, media space, or dedicated hobby room. This is a genuinely multipurpose layout, which is something the RV world loves to promise but often fails to deliver.
The Sun Deck is the Star of the Show
Let’s talk about the feature that makes this rig impossible to ignore—the sun deck.
The idea for the 10-foot sun deck originated with Sabre’s sales manager, and within a year it became a real product
for which Sabre had a year of exclusivity. That exclusivity window is wrapping up, so expect to see variations on this idea across the industry soon.
Functionally, the deck gives you outdoor living without stepping into the campground. It’s perfect for morning coffee; letting the kids get some fresh air; and enjoying a view without navigating muddy sites, traffic, or neighbors. Normally, the only rigs that offer this vibe are toy haulers with massive rear doors. This is more subtle, more convenient, and more livable.
The deck also transforms the interior. Floor-to-ceiling sliding glass turns the living area into something much closer to a tiny home than a traditional fifth wheel. That visual connection to the outdoors matters.
The Bonus Room, Loft, and Two-Bedroom Reality
Calling this rig a “one-bedroom” doesn’t feel accurate. It’s effectively a two-bedroom fifth wheel. The bonus room can sleep up to three kids, with the loft plus pullout plus floor or bench options. It can accommodate guests, and it can convert into a real office. Of course, teens, tweens, and young adults tend to claim the loft instantly.
On paper, it’s clever. In practice, it’s even better.
Kitchen, Storage, and Everyday Use
The kitchen layout is spot-on for full-timers and weekenders. It has everything you need, plus a few bells and whistles you don’t. Like a lot of modern rigs, there are gimmicky add-ons we could live without, but
the fundamentals are correct, with good prep space, fridge placement, pantry presence, and workflow.
You’ll see secret storage spots throughout the rig. They’re useful, and they’re another sign that the design process was led by actual RVers.
Storage on the exterior is limited compared to other fifth wheels of similar size, which could be an issue for buyers who travel with large cargo or heavy gear. For many users, the interior flexibility makes up for it.
What We Liked Most
Here are the standout features from our Test Drive:
• Sun deck that genuinely expands the livable space
• Bonus multipurpose room for kids, guests, office, or hobby use
• Loft space that adds flexibility
without complicating the floor plan
• Two-bedroom reality instead of one-bedroom-with-benefits
• Kitchen layout that works for real daily use
• Big windows and sliding glass bring the outside in
• Smart projector screen options for media use indoors or outdoors
• Thoughtful, and occasionally hidden, storage solutions
