STAGE DESIGN: Sia in Concert

Sia’s stage design is inspired by one of her most popular songs: Chandelier. The song’s bitter-sweet lyrics tell the story of a party girl self-medicating her way through life in search of the highest highs and in fear of the lowest lows, and in a 2013 Billboard cover story, Sia relayed just how close that story was to her own situation.

Using inspiration from the vertical movement of the song’s progression, as well as from the emotions Sia feels through moments of euphoria vs. hungover and regret, the dynamics of the stage and its elements ﬂuctuates parallel to the progression and the emotions.

SIA’S DRESSING ROOM

Sia is an Australian singer who always brings her dogs with her on tour. This is why incorporated a lounge area for her pets right next to her lounge, with two comfortable dog beds.

Sia is known for covering her face during her performances and generally in front of cameras because she likes to keep a sense of privacy in her life and at the same time she enjoys adding some mystery to her shows. This is why I’ve also included maxi hats and wigs that work as decor when not in use into the dressing room.

The color scheme is inspired by her new logo and the funky patterns and textures are inspired by her personality.
