ThePinkPanthershavetheirroots inSVMD;asportsassociation createdformarinesandtheir families.IntheDoornregion; rugbywasoriginallyplayed almostexclusivelybymilitary personnel.Earlymatcheswere contestedbyteamsmadeupof servingmarines;reflectingthe strongconnectionbetweenthe sportandmilitarylife.
Frequentoverseasdeployments madeitincreasinglydifficultto fieldaconsistentteameach weekend.In1979;civilianswere welcomedintothesquad; strengtheningnumbersand continuity.Thisstepprovedvital; andin1984RugbyClubThePink Pantherswasofficiallyfounded; markingthebeginningofan independentrugbyidentity.

Thatphilosophytrulypays off!
BilaalEgbertsstartedwiththe PinkPanthersbackin2010 andnowrepresentsthe nationalteam. Morerecently,Fedde VerbraakisplayinginLille, whilePelleKnoophastaken thenextsteptoIpswich.

ThePinkPanthershavenever beenaclubdefinedpurelyby trophies.Overtheyears; competitiveseasons;hardfought matches;andconsistent performanceshaveshapeda reputationbuiltonresilienceand commitment.
Whilesilverwarehascomeand gone;thetruemeasureofsuccess hasalwaysbeenthestandard upheldonandoffthepitch.
RespectwithinDutchrugbyhas beenearnedthroughdedication; teamwork;andaclearloveforthe game.

CLUBCULTURE
As the club continued to grow; the development of its own rugby pitch and clubhouse strengthened the sense of belonging.Thelaunchofayouth programme marked an important milestone; ensuringthe valuesof the Pink Panthers would be passedontofuturegenerations.
What emerged was more than a rugby club; it became a close knitsportingfamily.In2024;the PinkPantherscelebratedtheir40 year anniversary; four decades defined by rugby; friendship; and a deep connection to community.
