major expansion at West Star Aviation has reached another milestone as local economic development organizations this week presented the company with $246,000 in incentive funding tied to its investment in Grand Junction. The Grand Junction Economic Partnership and Industrial Developments Inc., in partnership with the Grand Junction Area Chamber of Commerce, each presented a $123,000 check to West Star Aviation during a ceremony July 14 at the company’s facility at 796 Heritage Way. The combined $246,000 represents the required local match for Colorado’s Strategic Fund Job Growth Incentive, which helped secure the expansion after Grand Junction competed with locations in other states for the project. The expansion includes construction of a 109,000-squarefoot facility, featuring 40,000 square feet of dedicated aircraft hangar space, 38,000 square feet of office and back-shop space, and additional aircraft ramp space, allowing the company to service more aircraft while supporting future growth.
