2026 Vol. 2 The premiere off-road club focused on family fun 4-wheeling, responsible recreation and public land stewardship

Camp Moab!

60th Easter Jeep Safari 2026! It's A Wrap! The Red Rock 4-Wheelers would like to thank all those who attended or followed us on social media for the 60th EJS! We hope you enjoyed the changes this year and all of the special events. We want to remind everyone that those comment cards are important to us. Make sure you take a few minutes to fill yours in and send it back so we can use your comments to improve next year's event.

‘It’s not just a boy thing’: Women who’ve made an impact on Easter Jeep Safari

Bina Boles, Lyndsay Bryson and Brittany Tharp were featured in the local Times-Independent for their contributions to getting women involved in the off-road world. Lizzie Ramirez spent the day on trail with all three. By the end of the article it was obvious the misconceptions about our sport and women were completely dispelled by the writer. Thanks also goes out to Roger Peck for his leadership in making things accessible and welcoming to our first timers and assembling his team. You can read the full article and several other EJS focused articles at the Times-Independent website.

Camp Moab was a hit with our youngest participants. Young people had a chance to learn, put their hands on things off-road related and took home souvenirs that they created. Reaction from families has been overwhelmingly positive. We had many local residents participate and they have let us know how wonderful it was to be able to participate in Easter Jeep Safari even though they were not out on trail. Other locals noted it created a connection with this huge event that takes place in their town annually but they haven't gotten to know us! Many of our participants who had youth attending with them also noted that it was great to have an event at Safari aimed at and specifically for youth. Many told us they hope this tradition continues not only for their kids but new families that become part of EJS. We may have created some issues for families as they go back home. Several participants have let us know their youth would like RC Jeeps like they were able to use on the RC course, a few want explorer kits with maps and compasses and a few are trying to talk mom and dad into a welder! Open to ages 6–17, Camp Moab provided a guided, engaging environment where young participants could discover how teamwork, respect, and responsibility keep our public lands open and thriving. Our goal was simple: to pass on the knowledge, values, and passion that have defined Easter Jeep Safari for over 6 decades. Ensuring these roads, trails, and traditions endure for generations to come.

On Tuesday night of the 60th EJS the Jeep® Brand entertained the entirety of Moab with a special Drone Show highlighting all things Easter Jeep Safari. Large crowds gathered throughout downtown leading up to the show with especially large crowds at the official watch parties at Milt's Stop & Eat and the Jeep® display in the Walker Drug parking lot. One of the highlights of the show was a rare sighting of the Diamond Billed Rock Pecker! The sighting was captured on video and can be seen on the Red Rock 4-Wheelers YouTube channel. Thanks to Jeep® for providing one of the entertainment highlights at this year's Safari!

The Final Exam Results! The 60th Easter Jeep Safari was the launch of the latest package for participants at EJS, The Final Exam. Fifteen candidates originally signed up to take the exam. By the time Tuesday morning arrived it appeared a few students had second thoughts about taking the Exam. Eleven candidates arrived at the meeting location on Tuesday morning. By the end of the day due to misfortune, mechanical failure or better judgement we were down to eight students. The exam is tough and it was expected we may lose a student or two over the two-day event. However, eight students were able to complete the entire exam. The eight inaugural graduates of The Final Exam are: Roger Collins, April Fingerlos, Paul Franklin, Jim Jones, Rob Morrison, James Rishel, Brian Shelton and Ron Stanger. A ninth student was able to complete Pritchett Canyon after being sidelined from Cliffhanger. We want to recognize Matt Willard for his effort and invite him back next year if he wishes to make another attempt at completing The Final Exam.

VINTAGE IRON CAR SHOW The Vintage Iron Car Show featured a plethora of antique and custom off-road vehicles. Approximately 80 off-road vehicles were on display. There was quite the variety of vehicles including previous Jeep concept vehicles, early Jeeps, Broncos and others. Many people loved seeing the vehicles that started it all. Of special note was a group of Jeeps in the show from the 1978 Jeep Expedition of the Americas (also known as the Expedicion de Las America), a remarkable journey from the southern tip of South America, through Central America and the Darien Gap, then up across North America before terminating in northern Alaska. Before the car show there was a fun run that about 35 of those vehicles participated in. The group ran the last portion of the Fins n Things. It was very entertaining watching them do their thing. There was an early VW based dune buggy (rear wheel drive) that made it up Kenny’s Climb after a couple of heart stopping tries. There were a few vehicles that had problems, but in the classic off-roading spirit people were there to help each other out. The Vintage Iron Car Show provided a great venue for young and old to see the vehicles that paved the way for what we have today. Many stories were swapped and alot of knowledge was passed on to future generations. A special thanks to everyone who displayed a vehicle at the show. The Club appreciates your contribution to a special 60th EJS!

60th Anniversary Run

The sold out 60th Anniversary Run of Behind the Rocks Trail was led by President George Schultz and featured a number of early vehicles that could easily have been there that sunny afternoon in 1967. Also on the run was Rick Pewe, Off-Road Hall of Famer, and former editor of JP and Petersen's Off-Road magazines. The day was truly a trip back in time for many and brought back those nostalgic feelings of Jeep Safaris past. Your reporter has only seen pictures of this legendary group as they made this trek once again through the desert, but seeing these vehicles in their natural habitat made me feel as though I finally had a glimpse of the first EJS.
