Introduction
Welcome to this edition of May 2026. There is one more event available to book in September, which is a walk with cameras around the very photogenic area of St Pancras. We have also been working on events for the rest of the year and 2027. 2.
What has happened in the SE region since the last newsletter
Don’t believe everything ChatGPT tells you! I used it to work out tide times at Whitstable, in order to get an incoming tide about halfway through. We arrived to nd the oyster beds already 3/4 submerged and just a marker post 30 minutes later. We still had a great time as Whitstable has a great deal to o er. Have a look at the pictures at the on ISSU, they are excellent. The good news is that we are trying again in November. I will be using tide tables, aiming to arrive 90 minutes after low tide. The visit to Sissinghurst took place in sunshine (no lack of it, this summer), and went very well, with thanks to Je Underwood, our new committee member for leading the event. 3.
News in the region
As you will know, all distinctions are suspended until the end of the year. I hope this timetable stays firm, so if you would like some advice on an LRPS, start now, as we will be running an LRPS online advisory day in early 2027. The RPS are also looking at the website and booking system. As you know, we use Billetto, which is very easy to use for us planning an event. I hope the new systems will enable us to revert to the RPS website, giving you an easy, single way to look at what is going on in the SE. 4.
