Under gentle spring sunshine, eight photographers from the Royal Photographic Society’s Central Region set out for a relaxed walk through Uffmoor Wood in Halesowen. The woodland, a treasured Woodland Trust site close to the Clent Hills, offered a quiet awakening of the season — trees still bare, blackthorn and native cherry beginning to bloom, and bluebells unusually early this year.
Busy with morning dog walkers, Uffmoor invited each participant to see differently: to explore the woodland, the play of light through branches, and the delicate textures emerging from winter’s retreat..
This book gathers those observations into a visual story — a shared reflection on spring’s first signs and the great joy of walking with a camera, noticing how nature quietly shifts before our eyes.
