We now have a proper zoom account so we can have meetings longer than 45 minutes and link it to the RPS events system for talks and other get togethers for members.
Moving to a blend of printed copies and digital
Our aim is threefold
1. Reducing costs especially postage which have over time become unsustainable without increasing the yearly subscriptions.
2. Incentivizing members contributions to the SIG and Heritage Photography
3. Reserving funds for larger collaborative projects.
As an incentive contributors will be sent printed copies of Heritage Photography this will include for:
Front cover images.
Members contributing an article or series of photographs will get a printed issue
Winners of monthly facebook competitions 1 copy only if multiple images winning over several months.
Contributions to calls for images for specific collections and special issues again only 1 copy if multiple images by the same photographer.
People who give a talk for members will receive a copy related to the date of their talk.
The additional advantage of digital is no page limit. If printed with more pages Heritage Photography becomes heavier so more costly to post also quicker delivery after publication, easier correction of errors Could also be more issues published in a year providing we get enough contributions.
The change will take place from the January 2025 issue.
The AGM will take place on February 13th at 19:00 GMT. Papers and zoom link will be circulated in due course.

Want to create an article but not at the moment?

As I prepare for future issues this is a plea for more content for Heritage Photography. Please submit any content as and when ready as I try to get issues prepared in advance of the month of publication.
One idea the committee had was for members to submit biographies with their favourite Archaeology and Heritage images so we can learn more about members preferably also with a photograph of you so we can put faces to names.
I have seen quite a few interesting infrared images on facebook so the plan is for an article on infrared so image examples from members would
be appreciated to include, please load to https://www.dropbox.com/request/ hZB14uZ14Esz96UjqYXg
I have created a revision for our requirements/submission guide sent with this newsletter so ideas about what you think should be in Heritage Photography and suggestions for members would be greatly appreciated, please e-mail me with suggestions and ideas heritage. editor@rps.org

If you are planning a series of photographs or an article to go into Heritage Photography this is the current and future schedule for issues.
I do prefer to have enough content on file so that issues can be planned and created in advance so the more material the better so if you submit and send something in it may not be printed in the next issue but definitely in subsequent issues.
Dates on the table below are approximate and may vary depending on the number of contributions and their timing.
Any ideas you would like feedback on please e-mail me heritage.editor@rps.org
