Mike Pill and I are on the case again, arranging another AV happening — but this time with a difference.
We have reserved the whole upstairs area of a lovely railway-themed cafe at Irlam Station — a station cafe, but not as we know it!
It is particularly suited to anyone just starting AV-making, or even considering getting into it, and looking for help or advice. We also warmly welcome experienced makers.
Expect railway relics, signs and memorabilia, plus an old-school signal box and an impressive steam engine outside. Inside: a warm, welcoming atmosphere, comfortable armchairs and a large TV for your AVs.
Experts: please come along and help the beginners! Current menu and venue information: thestationirlam.co.uk You do not have to be a member of the Royal Photographic Society. Everyone is welcome.

LUNCH BREAK Approximate time. Please note you must buy at least one tea or coffee. Lunch is optional. Please don’t bring own food. (we’ve got the room for free)
Accessibility note: there is no lift to the upstairs room. You will need to use the staircase. If arriving by train, you may also need station stairs to cross to the other platform.
AVs + INDIVIDUAL BREAK-OUTS One-to-one help, including technical questions. Bring your laptop if useful.

Although attendance is free and nobody will be turned away on the day, advance notice is preferred. Please email nwavday@gmail.com, preferably before 1 October, with:
BRING YOUR AV Send your AV at least 5 days beforehand, or bring it on a USB flash drive. Mac and Windows PCs will be available. Format: MP4 only. The TV is HD, so there is no benefit in sending / bringing 4K/UHD AVs. If bringing a USB flash drive, arrive a little early.
