RPS Scotland June 24 Newsletter

Page 1

June 2024 Newsletter I guess we’re all in full swing just now, with holidays coming up, either at home or abroad, and lots and lots of local days out…country fairs, markets, horse events, motorcycle racing events, Highland Games. All of these are grand photographic opportunities, and I hope you are lling your boots, and your memory cards. There is also a huge number of exhibitions and displays of photography and art in general, including some RPS “of cial” ones, and some RPS “local” ones, the details of some of them are in the What’s On page, including a Lanarkshire one, and the Documentary Photography Awards one which is on in two locations in Scotland (Inverness and Stirling), so there is no excuse for missing some of these. The RPS Scotland exhibition gets it’s rst outing in Edinburgh at the EPS premises too, along with the Edinburgh Salon, and an EPS members exhibition. We should all remain open to ideas and thoughts, and it’s by taking in as many and as diverse of these that we can grow our own imagery. You’ll also see in the What’s On page that there are open events and visiting days organised for some of these exhibitions, so this could be an ideal way to take in the exhibitions, amongst fellow RPS members. Have a think, and get in touch with the organisers for the days.
