elcome to AV News 215. It is hard to believe that this is my third year as editor. People keep saying nice things so I assume that I am getting it about right. I sometime re ect upon the purpose of this journal. I think it is here to keep you informed as to who is doing what, how AV is developing as an art form, news on forthcoming events and competitions, and hints and tips on how to make good quality AVs and associated sound tracks. To that end, I am highly appreciative of the efforts of Keith Scott, Malcolm Imhoff and Tony Collinson on how to get the best from our technical tools. In this edition, I am very grateful to Richard Brown for giving us some insight into his wonderful AV: In Search of Christina, and also to Martin Addison for some insights into his very successful Photo Harmony production Finding Narnia. In the latter case, I asked Martin to say something about his photographic techniques. I think it is useful to be reminded of the details of lense lengths, ISO settings f stops and shutter speeds from time to time. We are photographers after all. Copy for AV News is always a close run thing and a few spare articles “in the can” as it were, are always helpful. I could do with a few more contributors. Whether a novice or a master, I do believe that readers are interested in what drives your thinking, your approach to AV, the hurdles you overcame and what you would do differently. You will note this time that there are no Letters to the Editor. I am not sure why. Clearly I need to create more controversy although I am not sure if there is anything in this edition that will wind you up too much! Unless you tell me otherwise, I plan to do more of the same. Next time, I am planning to provide a round up of some of the online information relating to AV including what you will nd on Facebook and other platforms (not everyone's cup of tea I know, but there is some very helpful information out there if you care to look for it)
