Welcome to the SE region October Newsletter As I have mentioned before, this is the last month that I will be talking about Celia Henderson’s Photoshop courses. Although it is the end of an era for us, do not despair. Celia is running all her courses again but they will be under the guise of DIG in the future. You will still find them advertised on our website, as we are working closely with DIG. Click here to access this event The CLICK EVENTS that I have mentioned in the past are programmed in the first one is a Walk around Canterbury. Starting near the Cathedral we will be walking around the historic sights of Canterbury. Click here to access this free event There is one further click events planned for this year on 20/11/22. This is a Meet up at the Dungeness station of the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch railway. After an hour walking around the station and witnessing the last train’s arrival, sunset will be upon and there is plenty to shoot around Dungeness. If Photographing Autumn Tree Colours appeals to you the on the 23/10/22 we have Paul Mitchell leading a course at Eartham Woods, just north of Chichester. This course is certainly cheaper than you would pay publicly and 2022 promises to be a good year for colour. Click here to access this event Roger Crocombe is back on the 7/11/22 with his comprehensive course on How to Print in Lightroom. I have attended this before and can recommend it to all you Lightroom users. I certainly need an update as my Non Pro 100s printer is misbehaving quite badly. Click here to access this event Roger will also be hosting a free event on Printing Your Own Christmas Cards three weeks later on 28/11/22. The link will be available in a couple of weeks. Finally for this year, we have plans for a LRPS Online Advisory Day which I hope will be in early December depending on the availability of the advisors. We also have plans for an ARPS Advisory Day in January 2023, again depending on advisors availability. What about 2023? We have a number of ideas which I have listed below taking us up to August 2023. Your imagination is the only limitation for this workshop. A composite is a combination of images to create either the real or surreal. We'll use my, your and stock images to collect the resources. Learn to cut out or isolate subjects area with selection and masking tools. Prepare a background image. Combine all the images into a draft composite. Enhance the individual details of the composite and finally carry out the final edits and add the creative touches. This workshop will use many and varied Photoshop skills - layers, masking, selections, gradients, filters, lighting, perspective and reflections.

Masks are a very powerful tool for revealing and concealing parts of an image. This advanced workshop explores colour masks, luminosity and gradient and clipping masks.
