Welcome to this Special Christmas edition of AV News e-xtra, put together by Martin Addison, with special graphics designed by Andrew Gagg. In response to an invitation in the last AV News e-xtra, the following pages contain the Christmas cards sent in by members of our AV Community. The distribution of cards is always a feature of the Great Northern Festival and heralds the start of the Christmas period. Let's hope we will be able to meet face to face next year and be able to give them out personally. As 2021 comes to a close, it is heartening to look back and see how well our AV Community has done to keep in touch and make the best of the circumstances. It has not been all doom and gloom, as at the many Zoom events, many more people have "attended" that would not, for various reasons, have been able to do so face to face. On behalf of the RPS AV Group Committee I would like to express my gratitude to all the organisers, around the world, that have put on AV events and opened their Zoom doors to us. In particular to Jill Bunting and John Smith who have not only mastered "projection" of AVs over Zoom but have been very willing to share their expertise. Finally, a big thank you to all those who have contributed to this Special Christmas edition of AV News e-xtra. othersboth near and far. This Flowerpot Santa is madeby a part-time work colleague whose partner left her and their baby boy on Boxing Day three years ago. She started making thefigures for fun and has now madea little cottage
industry

herself selling them at village fetes. I salute her for
her strength and
determination in which shehas endured over the past three years and may it bea shining light of hopeand love to us all that life must carry on and beenjoyedregardlessof what obstaclesare sent our way. NAVC 2022
The RPS AV Group Committee are starting to plan for the National Audio Visual Championships which will be held in 2022.
