Squash History Foster Moverly (Peter) McRae In February 80 years ago, Foster (Peter) McRae, a former Club member, Bath Cup player, and England international, met his tragic end when the HMS Mahratta, the ship he was aboard, was torpedoed while en route to Russia in 1944. McRae was not only a skilled rugby player but also represented his county in cricket. Despite his versatility, his achievements never earned him a place on our squash honours boards, perhaps overshadowed by the legendary Amr Bey of his time. Nevertheless, McRae is revered as a hero, with numerous accounts highlighting his altruistic character.
