Rowmark Ski Academy has been built on the backs of champions: exceptional athletes who stand atop World Cup and Olympic podiums, visionary coaches, and generous supporters who established our premier training facility and Steiner Campus home base.
At the heart of Rowmark’s legacy is Todd Brickson, whose 23 years of leadership helped shape our elite ski academy and community. As we enter a new chapter under the leadership of Per Lundstam, we’re dedicated to ensuring that our championship culture endures.
The Rowmark community has already come together to create the infrastructure athletes need to thrive. Now our focus is shifting to the core of the program. We’re asking the community to give to the Todd Brickson Rowmark Endowment, a $2 million effort that will provide long-term, flexible support for the program’s greatest needs. Once fully funded, the endowment will yield an additional $80,000–$100,000 per year (assuming a 4–5% endowment draw) to supplement coaching salaries, provide financial support to recruit the top athletes, and create the best experience possible for our athletes.

Founded in 1982 as a division of Rowland Hall, Rowmark combines world-class ski training and rigorous academics.
Rowmarkers train at the Spencer F. Eccles Olympic Mountain Center at Utah Olympic Park. This facility features 1,200 vertical feet, 25 acres of expert terrain, 10 lanes of advanced alpine and freestyle terrain, a high-speed quad, and high-efficiency snowmaking systems.
Rowmark has produced Olympians, World Champions, US Ski Team members, and top college athletes.
Rowmark Ski Academy was established in Salt Lake City as a division of Rowland Hall’s Upper School. Co-founded by Olle Larsson and Dr. Carl Kjeldsberg, the program provides a year-round competitive alpine ski racing experience integrated with an exceptional academic curriculum.
Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, Rowmark produced elite competitive athletes, including US Ski Team members and Olympians such as Picabo Street and Hilary Lindh.
Since 1988, Rowmark alumni—including Alex Shaffer ’94, Chirine Njeim ’03, and Alice McKennis ’08—have been consistently named to Winter Olympic teams.
Rowmark became one of the first ski academies in the nation to achieve Gold Certification from US Ski & Snowboard. The certification recognizes excellence in athlete development, education, coaching, and organizational structure.
Rowmark’s primary training facility at Utah Olympic Park opened in late 2019, further enhancing on-snow development opportunities for student-athletes.
Rowmark alumnae had a standout season on the international stage: Breezy Johnson ’13 won World Championship downhill gold and a team combined gold, Katie Hensien ’18 and others posted strong World Cup and NorAm results, and Elizabeth Bocock ’23 medaled at the World Junior Championships.
Rowmark Ski Academy qualified four athletes to the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan Cortina, building on a remarkable legacy of qualifying athletes for every Winter Games since 1988. Breezy Johnson took the first gold medal of the Games in women’s downhill.
