A D & D C A M PA I G N D I A RY
A.k.a The ROUX DnD campaign Hello dear readers! Depending on how long you’ve been with us, you might’ve seen some D&D articles, written by Umut Ucak. In the September 2025, issue number 23 (you can read it online!), he said “As a DM, I have actually convinced our dearest Roux team to play D&D, and to go on their own whimsical adventure, you’ll hear about this very soon.” And we did! So, here is the story of our campaign, presented as articles from different perspectives across the magazines.
Hi hi hi hiiiiiiiiiiiii!!!!! My name is Ollie, and what I am about to tell you is the coolest story you’ll ever hear. It is the story of how I accidentally stumbled into an apocalypse and joined a group of coolest people ever!
Me
It was a nice, quiet day at Riverreach, the furthest point of civilization to the north. How did I end up there? Unfortunately, I cannot tell you just yet, but stay updated and one day I'll tell you, pinky promise. I was looking around the village, wondering what to do next, when suddenly, everywhere I looked there were robots, blood, and screams. I was new in the town and the only person I knew was Granny Gwendolyn. I helped her with moving some heavy boxes the other day and she insisted I stay for lunch. Being on your own is a bit scary, so I was really glad for the company. Let me tell you, it was the best soup I’ve ever had!

Gwendolyn is also amazing. She is soft spoken, kind, wise, and I think she is secretly very strong. There is something intriguing about her. When you talk to her, it's like all your worries go away. So I instantly started running that way, bobbing and weaving through the swarms of robots. As I approached her house, I saw a goliath man in his 50s. He hit a suplex, driving the robot head first into the ground (that was dope!) He then turned around, told me I should run, with the air of confidence around him, and started heading into Gwendolyn’s house. I completely ignored the “you should run” and followed him. Honestly, I was headed there first and I’m also very strong. Like, why would I even run, it's not like I know a safe place here. Anywayyy.

We walked into the house with a beautiful garden, the door was open. Gwendolyn was in her room, knitting in her armchair, refusing to go with us. The goliath guy tried to pick her up, but she hit him and told her to put her down. He shed a tear and turned to leave. But I was really not having it. I hate stories with bad endings, especially good stories. I once read such a good book just to cry my eyes out at the end. Like who the hell writes that! Anyway, I’m getting off track. I picked Gwendolyn up with her armchair. The guy went to help me (completely unnecessary, I was capable). Technically, you do not know his name yet, but I do, so instead of Lauri calling him the guy, he will from now on be Lauriak (horrible spelling, I ak know). Unless he lied about his name… Together we ran through the village, horrible images filling the streets. On the outskirts of the village, heading away from the mountains up north, we came upon a bridge with more robots waiting for us on the other side. I wonder if they are smart or if they are commanded by someone. Also are they even robots at all? Anyhoo… More survivors joined us in this fight, running to our aid from all sides. Four brave adventurers that immediately caught my eye. You, again, don't really know them yet, but it will be so confusing to call them guys and girls. So let me introduce them:

Victor
A human guard who bravely rushed into the fight, two-handed halbert in his hands (Victor). An elf warlock who started shooting magical spells across the river (Ioriel). A halfling warlock, with golden veins, who hid, but still used his staff to shoot spells at the enemy (Theodor). An orc paladin, he carries a huge shield with a silver shine to it, with engravings of entwined flowers and a chalice in the middle. You can smell frost if you are near it. (Durandil)

Dur and

They all are soooooo cool!!!! I wonder if I can also do a spell at some point. But honestly, my new companion, with Gwendolyn in his hands, was also incredible. With his bare hands, he punched and kicked the robots, breaking through their metal bodies with every movement. Eventually, we reached the other side of the river safely. The burning houses of Riverreach lied before our eyes. In one of the houses, we heard a baby screaming. Victor and Durandil lifted a broken piece of roof, and Ioriel quickly snuck in, running into the house and a second later running out with a baby. I like her. And after all that, it was suddenly quiet. The silence was heavy, uncomfortable, accompanied by the creaking of houses on fire and the horrible sight of what was once a beautiful village, now painted with bodies, blood, and destruction. As we walked to the edge of the village, we saw all the survivors and villagers. And as we stood there, people started whispering, “We need to head to the capital…” And so, our journey began.

Ti
With your permission, I’m going to skip forward a little bit, to the stuff I want to tell you myself! The others can fill you in on how we saved a Great Tree of Life and recruited Tì the Druid, saved a clan of wolves from a Gnoll warband that wanted to conquer the ancient forests, and how we met and helped the survivors in our caravan. I wanna tell you about the coolest and my favourite adventure. I named it “The Graveyard of Gwendolyn”. Oh oh, but Tì (Lentìenne, I have no idea how to spell that) is really really cool, she is an elf, druid and really really likes trees.
There is sooooo much shit happening, that we might need some information and knowledge. The smartest and wisest (and overall greatest) of us, Gwendolyn, said that she very much could find some information on the robots, on the Gnolls, and everything else, but she needs her books! She said they are close by, at a graveyard (questionable, but who am I to question Gwendolyn?) Before going there, we crafted a really cool off-road wheelchair for Gwendolyn, the Gwenmobile, you know, she can’t walk that far. Anyway, the graveyard! Bro it was so creepyyyy, I hate graveyards! Of course, as soon as we went there, crawling hands started popping up, zombies and huge zombies started attacking us… As we later found out, some of it was in fact a spell of Gwendolyn’s. Told you she was cool! The little claws of rotten flesh weren't that strong but were very nasty, ew ew ew. Then at some point all the actual zombies decided to form into one huuuuuge zombie. Very powerful, very nasty and scary. We fought, knocking over tombstones, slashing zombies up, and being smacked around by the big one. Finally, Durandil ran up to it and, with a single blow of his Flail, struck down the monster. It was incredible!!! Gwendolyn told us to find the three keys she’d scattered across the graveyard, which of course we had to do while fighting off the zombies (I found one!). They unlocked a coffin in which she buried her books (I know…) which her husband was buried in (I KNOW!!!) I didn't have time to look at the gravestone at first, but I was shocked when I did. It said, “Here lies a great warrior and adventurer, Gudrol the Mighty”. Now, I know I didn't tell you much about myself, but I heard so much about this person. Growing up, I asked everyone I knew to tell me stories about him and read all the books I could get my hands on. I knew so much about him, that when I had to choose a "spiritual guardian” to look over me during my journey, there wasn't really a different option. I am from a clan of barbarians, Storox. At the age of 15 we usually get sent on a small adventure to see the world, prove ourselves and the whole deal. We all choose a spiritual guardian to help us on our journey (barbarian things, you wouldn’t get it.)

Gudrol the Mighty was one of our legendary leaders with crazy adventures and legends, borderline myths. But I think everything is true. And here was his grave and his late wife. I mean, I knew he died quite a while back, but to see it… I just stood there, not knowing what to do. Gwendolyn saw that and instantly knew. We talked, she told me about their adventures and life, about the fire realm, the island of pirates and their final battle, where Gudrol decided to stay back to save the rest. I think we both cried a bit. She’s never visited our clan, so, with her permission, I carved our symbol on the gravestone. His sword and shield, his legendary weapons, lied with him. I wouldn’t even dare to touch them, but Gwendolyn told me to take them. I honestly still don’t know if that was the right thing to do, but I did.
With the rest of our party, we put Gudrol back into his grave, picked up the books, and loaded them onto the Gwenmobile. As we headed back to our caravan, a creepy purple cloud left the graveyard with us, headed down south, but that’s for another adventure, another day. At last, I shoppingcart-surfed Gwendolyn’s wheelchair downhill, away from the grave of Gudrol the Mighty and the scary zombies.
Hehe
That's it for today, my hand hurts from writing. I’m gonna go see if I can find anything tasty by the campfire and ask Lauriak some questions about him (he doesn’t really answer any.) But you’ll hear from me or one of us again. Bye-bye!

A POEM
