Emergency services were at the scene of a serious house fire at The Oaks estate in Frenchpark, County Roscommon as the Roscommon People went to press on Wednesday evening. The incident, which occurred shortly after 7.15 pm on Wednesday, saw a property engulfed in flames. Eyewitnesses at the scene reported hearing what they described as an “explosion” shortly before the fire took hold. Footage shared with the Roscommon People showed the house ablaze in the immediate aftermath. At the time of going to press, there is no confirmation as to whether anyone was injured or if there have been any fatalities. Gardaí did confirm they were assisting the fire service with the response and added that investigations are ongoing. At the time of writing, no further information was available.
