FriendshipConnectioncannotguaranteethatallroomswillbeairconditionedduringthesummer.Wemakeevery efforttoutilizeairconditionedspacesinbuildingswhereitisavailable.
XCEL ENERGY SHUT DOWN DAYS
RosevilleAreaSchoolsparticipatesinanenergysavingprogramwithXcelEnergy.Attimesduringthesummer,we mayreceivenotificationthatweneedtodropenergyuseateachbuiding.Cuttingenergyusagemeansshutting offairconditioning,lights,computers,andotherpowersourcesfortherestoftheday.Wetryandmakethesedays extrafunthroughalternativeprogramming;thankyouforunderstandingthatsomeprogrammingmaychangeat thelastminute Ifyourchildhasspecialneedsthatmaybeaffectedbytheseshutdowns,pleaseinfo Coordinator.

Thissummer,we'returninguptheheat!CulinaryAdventuresisaone-of-a-kindyouth programpackedwithcookingclasses,globalculturalexploration,andfunfitness activities Kidswillalsogettheirhandsdirtyinthegarden—learningtogrowfresh ingredientsfromseedtoplate.Theprogramwillencourageentrepreneurialthinkingas studentsdevelopideasfortheirown“snackstand,”includingbranding,pricing,and marketing.Throughinteractivegamesandchallenges,youthwillbuildcollaboration andproblem-solvingskills.Activitieswillalsoincorporateculturalexplorationby highlightingpopularsnacksfromaroundtheworld.Andfromkitchensafetytopersonal wellness,wemakegoodhygienehabitsanaturalpartofeveryday Yourkidwillleave withnewrecipes,newperspectives,andhopefullyevennewpassions.

Arcade:Activitiesthatinvolvelearningandexploringtechnologysuchasplayingpre-approvedgames ontheNintendoSwitch,iPad,orFriendshipConnectionwebsite.
Gym/Outside:Staff-ledcompetitiveandcooperativegamesaswellasfreetime.
EXPLORE TIME
ExploreTimeisachoice-based,intentionallearningblockbuiltintosummerprogrammingtwiceperday. DuringExploreTime,studentsselectfromfacilitatedlearningexperiencesdesignedtobuildskills,spark curiosity,andsupportacademicgrowthinawaythatfeelsengagingandflexible.
SomeExploretimeoptionsmaybe:
STEM(Science,Technology,EngineeringandMath)-Studentswillexploretheseconceptsthrougha varietyofageappropriategamesandactivities.Scienceactivitiesmayincludeprojectsthat introducechemistry,biology,ecology,physics,andastronomy.STEMactivitiesgivestudents opportunitiestosolveproblems,thinkcritically,andworkinsmallgroups.

TeamTime-Teambuilding,communication,andcooperationarethefocusofteamtime.Theseskills arepracticedandimprovedthroughavarietyofactivities.
SEL(SocialEmotionalLearning)-Studentsparticipateinactivitiesthatsupportthedevelopmentof socialandemotionalskills,suchasself-awareness,empathy,andrelationship-building.
College&CareerReadiness-Throughhigh-quality,plannedactivities,childrendeveloppractical skills,explorecareers,andbuildconfidenceforthefuture.
Culture-Studentsareintroducedtodiverseculturesinmeaningfulandrespectfulways,helping buildcuriosity,empathy,andanappreciationforothers.
