Health Care Directive Workshop* Wednesday, August 19, 1:00-4:00pm Register By: August 6 Cost: FREE Steeple Center, Assembly Hall Regardless of health or age, we all need to make decisions about our end-of-life wishes. A Healthcare Directive is a legal document that communicates your wishes regarding medical care when you are no longer able to. This workshop will include an informational session about Healthcare Directives with experts from medical, social work, and thanatology fields available to answer your questions. Following the information session there will be 1:1 support available to assist you with questions or roadblocks as you make decisions and fill out your Healthcare Directive. Notaries will be on site to legalize finished documents. Participants will leave with 3 copies of finished documents to share with healthcare team members. Presented by Minnesota Hospice.
Coffee Cup Announcement With recent increased attendance at the Steeple Center, we have also seen an increase in the amount of compostable coffee cups being used. It is a great problem to have! That said, in an effort to be more diligent in how we spend taxpayer money, we are going to phase out offering compostable (disposable) cups at our coffee bar. Doing this will save us close to a thousand dollars per year! We will continue to offer ceramic mugs for coffee and plastic cups for water, or you certainly can and are encouraged to bring in your own mugs and water bottles. You can place used mugs and cups in any of the sinks for staff to pick up and clean. The disposable cup phase out will take place over the next month or two or until our current supply runs out. We appreciate your understanding of this change in order to save some “change”.
