THE PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
I I welcome the introduction of this quarterly newsletter and look forward to the sharing of information with the entire team and our partners. The year to date has had some challenges, however, noticeable success has been seen in most areas of our operations. We are seeing positive progress in several departments and in this regard, I must mention the Golf, Great House and Water Reclamation Departments, which despite external regulations continue to make positive contributions to the company’s revenue base. Recent announcements speak of increased hotel rooms in this area over the next two to three years and this augurs well for all aspects of our business. Let us then, continue to provide a high level of service to our clients and customers at all times. This will position us to capitalize on the opportunities which increased visitor arrivals will bring. We’ve had some changes to our staff compliment and we welcome the newest additions to our Rose Hall family. I look forward to working with them as we steer the company in its quest for continued growth and development. GOLF: PUTT’ing UP WITH GOLF
n the summer of 2018, Matt and the White Witch team took on an exciting project to remove the back 9 greens of their Bermuda grass to replace and grow in a new type of grass called Primo Zoysia. This was done to help the turfgrass better withstand the busy winter season that tends to have less sunlight, something that Bermuda grass needs. The project went very well, and after some very positive reviews from industry experts and guests alike, the front 9 greens were tabbed to undergo the same process in the summer of 2019. That project is well underway and looks to be completed by October 1st; at that point, White Witch will have all 18 holes opened once again and looks primed for a great 2019-20 season. The Cinnamon Hill team under the guidance of Clive Anderson has
been hard at work as well. Greens aeration, fairway aeration and a lot of cart path work have been done at the Cinnamon Hill golf course this summer which our guests are sure to enjoy. The smooth ride on our new back 9 cart paths will be a treat, especially for those guests that prefer golfing with an ice-cold beverage in hand! In early October, we will have our 2nd iteration of the Member’s Club Championship! This event lets our members test their skills against one another to see who will be this year’s champion in four different divisions. It’s always a pleasure to see our members compete for the right to be named a Rose Hall Golf Club Champion! Hope to see you on the course soon!

ROSE HALL HOSTS BACK TO SCHOOL FAIR
ose Hall Developments Limited on Saturday, August 31, 2019, hosted it’s very first Back to School fair and fun day for the members of staff and their children at the Palms. More than 250 back to school gift bags were prepared for the children filled with books, pencils, space savers, lunch bags and other essential stationery. The Rose Hall Recreational Committee expressed their satisfaction with being able to provide this aid to the children and their parents. “We appreciate and value our staff and a big part of our commitment to

Rose Hall Royale caught up with the kitchen and enjoyed a simple plate that not only looked elegant, but that was bursting with flavours! Here’s how you can prepare and enjoy a Chef Anderson special of your own: Fresh seafood sautéed in olive oil with garlic and onion, finish with chopped tomatoes, parsley and lime juice. Accompanied by pineapple mashed sweet potato with a hint of ground cinnamon and sour cream, pureed sautéed callaloo and carrot pinwheels.

amaica has always been a favourite location for the James Bond films and several of the 007 films are brimming with an abundance of Jamaican Landmarks. Over the years, guests have travelled to our waters to tour some of these beautiful and sometimes lesser-known featured locations in Bond films such as “Dr. No and Live and Let Die” Here’s a Rose Hall fact, that’s also in the top 25 facts of things to note about the Bond movies filmed in Jamaica. The Grounds of the Rose Hall Great House and the Cinnamon Hill Golf Course was used in filming Live and Let Die. A makeshift Graveyard was also built around our Cinnamon Hill Golf Course Waterfall at Hole #15 for the
graveyard scene. Also, the scene of the poppy field was shot in the hills directly behind the Great House. If you wish to see any of these scenes or can’t even remember seeing it at all, when next you watch “Live and Let Die” skip to 00:54:51 seconds and enjoy the scenery of what Rose Hall would have looked like in the 70’s up to 00:57:58 seconds.
