In May 2027, Rosebery School will reach a historic milestone: 100 years of educating, empowering and inspiring generations of young women. Our Centenary Year will honour this extraordinary legacy while celebrating who we are today and the ambitious future ahead.

We also celebrate a century of achievement, character and community. Our events and projects will highlight the remarkable contributions of students, staff, alumnae and families - past and present - encouraging every member of our community to feel proud of the school they belong to and the difference they make.

Each project has been designed to reflect how Rosebery students are both joyful in spirit and ambitious in purpose - determined to contribute positively to the world around them. Over the course of the year, students, staff, alumnae, families and neighbours will come together to commemorate the past, celebrate the present and imagine the next century.
We will honour the achievements of generations of Rosebery girls while creating ambitious new opportunities for those who follow.

Alumnae Programme
As part of the centenary, we will relaunch and expand our Alumnae Network to reconnect with former students and celebrate their diverse journeys beyond Rosebery.
Alumnae will be invited to share messages, career stories and mentoring advice for current students, as well as to participate in major centenary events. This project celebrates our past, strengthens our community and builds ambitious new connections for the future.
Rosebery Rewilding and the Centenary Orchard
As part of our long-term sustainability commitment, the Centenary Year will see the expansion of Rosebery’s rewilding programme. Students, families and staff will take part in creating hedgerows, wildflower meadows, a wildlife pond and the Centenary Orchard, supported through a sponsorship scheme.
This project will culminate in the creation of the Rosebery Centenary Walk , a new, permanent outdoor learning and wellbeing space that reflects our ambitious vision for the next 100 years.
100 Challenges for 100 Years
To mark the centenary, every tutor group in Years 7 to 10 will embark on a programme of 100 challenges, including ‘acts of kindness’, fundraising for the Rosebery Foundation and ambitious team achievements such as walking 100 miles or completing 100 pledges. This school-wide initiative brings our values to life, strengthening community, wellbeing and purpose while contributing thousands of positive actions during the Centenary Year.
Time Capsule
Every year group will contribute items, messages and reflections to be sealed inside the Rosebery Centenary Time Capsule, which will be buried during the Centenary Festival Day. Marked along the Centenary Walk, the capsule will remain unopened until 2127 - a powerful legacy gift from today’s students to the Rosebery girls of the next century.
Centenary Gala Performance
In April, a spectacular performance will bring together music, drama and dance to celebrate 100 years of artistic excellence. Held in our newly refurbished School Hall, the Gala will showcase performances by current students, while warmly inviting alumnae and the wider community to attend and share in this special occasion. Each act will reflect a different era of the school’s creative journey, from its early foundations to its modern, forward-looking identity, making it a joyful highlight of the Centenary Year.
Centenary Exhibition: A Century of Girls’ Education
Bringing Rosebery’s rich history to life through a curated collection of artefacts, uniforms, photographs, film reels and personal stories from generations of students. A digital timeline - researched and designed by current students - will accompany the physical displays around the school. Alongside this, a monthly Centenary magazine, produced by students, will capture stories, reflections and highlights throughout the year, creating a living record of the celebrations. The exhibition celebrates the pride and identity of the Rosebery community over a century of change, growth and remarkable achievement.
Centenary Festival Day
A vibrant, whole-community celebration, bringing together current and former students and staff, families and neighbours. The day will feature a rich programme of performances, creative showcases and interactive activities, alongside opportunities to explore the school’s grounds, including the Centenary Walk and rewilding spaces. With food, music and moments of reflection woven throughout, the Festival Day will culminate in a special ceremony honouring the shared achievements of the Rosebery community - past and present - while looking ahead to an ambitious future.
The Rosebery Foundation
A lasting legacy, ensuring excellence never depends on circumstance. Launching during the Centenary Year, we will bring the Rosebery community together to widen access to opportunity, nurture confidence, and support every young woman to aspire and succeed. The Foundation will address inequalities that limit access to enrichment, wellbeing support, leadership opportunities, and future pathways. Through targeted support, including empowerment, networks, and outdoor learning, the Rosebery Foundation ensures that no student’s ambition is defined by circumstance - now and for generations to come.
