Born from a love of dinghy sailing, Rooster® was founded in 1999 by Steve Cockerill with a simple mission: to make high-quality, accessible sailing gear for everyone. Starting out in his spare room in the UK, Steve relied on friends to help create the very first products – driven by his own frustration at not being able to find kit that truly worked. What began as a personal project has grown into a trusted technical clothing brand, supporting sailors across the world. While sailing remains at our heart, Rooster® gear is designed for versatility across the water. From paddleboarding and kayaking to foiling and beyond, our thoughtfully engineered clothing and kit adapt to changing conditions -empowering you to embrace every adventure, all year round. We believe in doing things properly. We’re a small team of passionate sailors and watersports enthusiasts who design, test, and wear the kit ourselves. PFC-FREE DWR FINISH Many Rooster outer garments feature a Durable Water Repellent (DWR) treatment that encourages water to bead and roll off the fabric surface. Our latest products utilise PFC-free water repellent technology.

STITCHING TYPES The construction of a seam plays an important role in the performance of a neoprene garment, influencing flexibility, comfort, warmth and water resistance. Rooster uses different stitching methods depending on the intended conditions and level of protection required.

F L AT L O C K Flatlock seams interlock the neoprene panels to create a strong, flexible seam that lies flat against the skin for all-day comfort. Ideal for warmer conditions where maximum flexibility and breathability are the priority. BENEFITS

GLUED & BLIND (GBS) GBS construction begins by bonding the neoprene panels together with adhesive before stitching through only part of the material. Because the needle doesn’t fully penetrate the neoprene, water ingress is significantly reduced while maintaining flexibility. Ideal for colder conditions where warmth and water resistance are essential. BENEFITS

UV RASH/SPANDEX Staying protected from the elements is essential when you are out in sunny weather. That is why Rooster has developed quality, comfortable and technical UV rash guards which offer layers of protection against harmful UV radiation.

POLYPROTM T H E U LT I M AT E S P O R T S B A S E L AY E R Rooster Polypro™ is a long-term and thoroughly developed staple of thermal base layer comfort and protection. Constructed from a combination of Polypropylene (94%) and Elastane (6%). The brushed inner fabric gives it a thick, fleece-like, high quality texture which feels incredibly warm and soft next to your skin. Polypropylene is naturally hydrophobic, which means the fabric feels remarkably dry, even when wet. Wear it next to your skin underneath your neoprene suit, ski suit, drysuit, salopettes or whatever mid-layer your sport requires. Wear it on the water or for winter running, cycling, kayaking, walking anytime you need a thermal base layer.

WARM 4mm WETSUITS FOR COMFORT & MOVEMENT Our warmest collection using mainly 4mm superstretch neoprene in combination with some thinner neoprene on specific panels where more stretch or movement is required. We combine the superstretch neoprene with several different linings and outer surface fabrics to give the best performance in our products. Our Supertherm® products all use Glued Blind Stitching (GBS) to increase warmth and minimise water coming through the seams.
