This painting is known as a landscape. Landscapes can include nature or humanmade things like buildings. What plants, animals, or other elements do you notice in this landscape?
Learn something new
Grandma Moses taught herself how to paint and kept painting until she was 101 years old! Her art is inspired by her memories and imagination. What’s a new skill you would like to learn when you get older?
Think outside the art

Explore The Galleries Out on the Lake is located in the Myers gallery. This gallery is named after the Myers Family who donated artworks to the museum many years ago. Who would you name a gallery after?
Out on the Lake is part of the Being Outdoors: Recreation in the American Imagination exhibition. The theme of this exhibition is about how people in America spend time in nature. There are four exhibitions in the museum. Choose one work of art from each to create your own exhibition in the space above. What would you name your exhibition?
